“Well how is she?” Torin asked leaning against the wall in the hall outside Amber’s bedrom.

“She is shocked, she thinks we’re crazy or we’re just pulling her leg. I shifted before I left so she’s probably quite unnerved right now”

“Well duh” Emma said walking down the hall rolling her eyes. “You’ve just told her that all the monsters that ever haunted her nightmares were real. That the history she learned in school dosen’t even begin to cover what happened over the centuries. You’ve told her that there is another race that lives amoung humans that she never knew existed. And then ontop of all of that you told her that she’s becoming one of us and she dosen’t have a say in the matter. Real smooth Kiara”

“Well what would you have done? Waited until she recovered and had all these new senses she didn’t understand. Or gotten up to go to look around and seen a lion walking around the place. I did what I thought needed to be done” Kiara said glaring at Emma.

“Ya but you didn’t have to spring it on her all at once she just regained consiousness you didn’t need to dump all that information on her.”

“Ladies, ladies enough. What’s done is done it cannot be changed so move on. She’s probably going to be sleeping a lot over the next few days so it will give her time to think on what Kiara’s told her and accept it before she has to deal with the rest of the pack. When she is ready we will teach her our ways as well as teach her about her new power. She will need to learn our territory, the neutral areas and well everything but we will do that when the time is right. For now we will let her rest. Emma, later on why don’t you bring her some food, you two are about the same age it’s possible she may trust you more then anyone else.” Emma nodded and walked away to figure out what she would bring to Amber…maybe some fast food, that was always a big hit. Torin turned to Kiara.

“I did what I thought was best. I told her the truth.”

“I know darling. You didn’t do anything wrong. She will either be able to handle it or she wont either way you did what was needed.”

“I think she will be able to handle it. I sense a strong will in her. She may end up being an alpha.” Kiara said stepping into Torin’s arms.

“That’s good, she will fit in well with us.” Torin said turning and leading Kiara away from Amber’s room and downstairs.

Amber stared at the ceiling trying to make sense of what she heard and witnessed. Maybe it was some sort of magic trick, but there was no smoke, no flash of light, it was simply one second she was a human and the next a panther and then a human again. No, no it was crazy demons were a thing of fantacy they weren’t real, if they were then it would be in the news wouldn’t it? Kiara sounded so sincere though but really how much could you trust someone you first met. She looked down at her arm, it was covered in bandages. They had taken care of her, probably protected her from the wolf that had attacked her. Amber started to doze off her last thought was how much could she trust them.

A while later her door opened and a happy blonde woman bounced into her room holding a bag from Wendys along with a couple drinks. Amber smiled.
