"Kevin?" I stood shock. Kevin was standing before me with a giant grin on his face.
"Hey Jay! Are you surprised," he threw his arms over me, enveloping me in a bear hug.
More than you know.
"Yeah, I'm...surprised. What are you doing here?"
"I came to visit my best friend." He walked into the house and rested his suitcase near the couch.
"What about school?"
"They're celebrating the towns 100th anniversary, so all the school's are out for a week to prepare. I thought it would be a great time to come and visit you." He grinned while looking around the house.
"Uhum." I saw Annie, crossed-arms, leaning against the door ledge of the kitchen.
I gave her a weak smile.
Kevin saw her and introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Kevin, Jay's best friend." He held out his hand.
"I'm Annie, Jay's best friend as well." She slapped his hand.
I groaned inwardly. "Annie, he's cool."
She elvaluated him, scanning him up and down. Then she shrugged and walked into the kitchen.
Once she was out of hearing distance, Kevin whispered, "What's with her?"
"She can be tough. But she's a sweety."
"If you say so." He shrugged. "What are you guys doing tonight?" We walked into the kitchen.
"Well, Mr. Show-up-out-of-nowhere, Jay and I have plans tonight." Annie crossed her arms.
Kevin glanced at me. I looked at Annie confused. "We do?"
"Yeah, we do."
"If you say so, I think we can ta-,"my dad walked through the front door.
"Yes, Angela, I'll meet you at Le Petit Jardin at 7." Angela? He was talking to that woman again. I signaled to the others to be quiet. "We'll discuss the plan...yeah...I don't want to spring the news on her...she's my daughter...yeah, ok...see you then...bye." He jogged up the stairs.
"Who's Angela," Kevin asked, looking confused.
"She's the one that Jay thinks her dad is romantically involved with,"said Annie while pulling the orange juice from the fridge.
"Dang, Jay. That's rough." Kevin pulled a glass out of the cabinet and took the orange juice from Annie's hand. She shot him a dirty look. He poured some orange juice into it, and handed the glass back to her. She seemed confused.
"Yeah...I don't want to jump to conclusions that my Dad is having an affair...but it's so hard not to think that way since he's been sneaking behind my back."
Annie came around table and comforted me. "I have an idea."
Kevin looked at her and me, curious.
"What?"
Annie pulled the chair out from underneath the table and sat down. "Let's spy on him."
Kevin started laughing. "Right. Let's spy on Jay's dad. That's a brilliant plan," he said sarcastically.
"Well, you have another plan?"
He sat down really close to Annie. "Nope."
"Well, then let's do it." Annie looked at me looking for hesitation.
I really wanted to know who this woman that kept calling and meeting my dad was. I wanted to see her. Mom, I can't let him forget about you.

A/N: Hey everyone!
I haven't been on, in what feels like forever! I had actually typed this chapter up before and it was longer, but while I was saving it, everything was erased and I had to start over again.
I'm so sorry it was short, but as many of you know, I don't have a computer, and have to wait to go to the library to publish my chapters. Things have happened since the last time I was on that have prevented me from coming to the library and updating. And I don't know if I will be able to update every week like I had previously promised. But I am very determined to finish this story, so bear with me please.
Thank you and you guys are the best,
Sara <3
