Cassidy held her phone in front of her face and stuck her tongue out, not caring if anyone noticed her taking a photo of herself. She had just enough time to add the caption 'what're you doing today?' before she was approached by someone looking at her as if she was mentally ill.

"You're on that way too much." The girl stated with the raise of an eyebrow.

Cassidy fought the urge to roll her eyes and placed her Samsung back in her pocket. "Nice to see you too, Amy."

Amy was one of Cassidy's closest friends. They spent almost every waking moment together, and knew each other better than anyone else.

"You were Snapchatting Jamie again, weren't you?" Amy accused as she sat on the grey wall next to her friend.

Cassidy didn't answer, but the pale shade of pink that painted her cheeks gave it away. "Where's Maci?"

Maci was the final member of the trio. It was unusual for Cassidy to not know where she was, but she knew that Amy probably did if she didn't. The three friends were inseperable and everyone knew that they'd rarely have one without the others. It was only when they were asleep, with family, or when Cassidy was with her other friend, Claire, that she would not see them. Claire didn't really get on with Amy and Maci, and Cassidy respected that and kept their friendship seperate.

Her question didn't distract Amy from the previous subject though, much to Cassidy's disappointment. "If he's never gonna come down, what's the point?"

"You didn't answer my question. Where's Maci?" It wasn't the first time that Amy and Cassidy were having that conversation about Jamie, and Cassidy really didn't feel like hearing it today.

"I'll answer your question when you answer mine. Why bother Snapchatting a guy you may never meet when there are plenty of nice guys around here."

Cassidy scoffed. "Nice guys? Where the hell are you looking? I've never known a nice guy around here."

Cassidy knew from experience that there were only three types of guys in the area that she lived. The ones who hurt every girl they get, the ones who were taken, and the ones who were gay. If there were any decent guys around, then they were hiding - and they were hiding well.

Amy held in a frustrated groan. Her friend was always so reserved when it came to talking about Jamie. "That wasn't my point, Cass. You're putting all this time into talking to him and he's in a different country for crying out loud! Don't ignore the local guys who want you for someone you may never meet."

Cassidy sighed, her dark blonde hair whipping her wind kissed cheeks as a breeze blew passed. "Me and Jamie.. Well, there's no me and Jamie. We're just friends. He's just someone to talk to that's all."

"I'm someone to talk to."

"I'm not stupid enough to like him more than that," Cassidy was too caught up in her own thoughts to even acknowledge what her friend had said, "he has a lot of girls who are attracted to him and he told me himself that he doesn't settle down or have relationships often. He's more of a casual kind of guy."

Oh but you are that foolish, Amy thought, because you're already head over heels.

"Maci's gonna be late so she's meeting us at the pub." Amy dropped the Jamie subject; it looked like Cassidy was having some sort of internal battle with her mind - or she was just really constipated - and she didn't want to make it worse for her.

"Put that phone away!" Maci warned. They were barely through their meals and Cassidy was already zoning out of their conversations and checking her phone beneath the table.
