Me and Dally waited a few more days and then decided to go see Pony and Johnny. Dally said I shouldn’t go but I talked him into letting me go. Dally got Buck to let us use his car, and I wish we would’ve just took a train, like Johnny and Pony. Dally was a horrible driver. He drove way too fast and didn’t seem to know what a stop sign meant. I couldn’t have been happier when we got there and Dally stopped driving. We walked around the church and found a place where we could go in. I saw Pony first, he didn’t even look like himself. His hair was dyed blonde and cut. Johnny’s was just cut. I was holding back a laugh when Pony woke up. They started asking us question after question. Dally gave Pony the letter from Sodapop I could tell he was happy to get the letter from his brother. Dally took Johnny and Pony to get something to eat. I decided to stay behind because I wasn’t hungry. After about 10 minutes I heard something driving up the gravel to the church. I looked out the window but instead of seeing Dally driving it was a school bus. Shit, what am I gonna do now. I went into the back of the church and hid. I started to hear kids laughing, and it sounded close. They must be in the church.

I started to smell smoke. I didn’t know where it was coming from though. I got up and started walking around. That’s when I realized the church was on fire! I must have fallen asleep when I was hiding. It had already become hard to breathe. I looked around all of the exits were engulfed in flames. Then I heard Pony and Johnny’s voices. I ran toward them. “Christy!” Dally. He came in the church too. I couldn’t get to the room they were in. The wall was in flames. I finally found a way to them. Dally ran up to me and hugged me. Johnny and Pony were getting the little kids out of the church. Me and Dally told them to get out but they weren’t leaving until all of the kids were out. The church had started falling down. Dally pushed Pony and when he pushed me out the window the church had completely collapsed. I could think of was Dally still being in the church. Then everything went black…
