Eva's POV
It was the first day and I had set my alarm extra early for more time in the shower. I got
dressed into my favorite sweater and skirt and tan oxfords. I headed out to my first course: chemistry. I like chemistry but it's not my favorite class. When I went in, I was the first one in, no surprise. I chose a seat in the third row and waited. It was about two minutes until people started arriving and filling up the chairs. Soon, the professor came in and started introducing himself. I knew already that this was going to be a boring class by the professors age(he looked about 70 years old and ready to decompose)and how slow he was talking. Soon, the class ended and I gathered up my stuff and left. My next class wasn't as bad. The whole day pretty much went like that, with professors introducing themselves and saying what the course was about. Until my very last class. Before it, I needed to go to the bathroom because I had drank two cups of coffee to stay awake during some of the boring classes. When I exited the bathroom, I was on my phone as not paying attention to where I was going. I tripped on a cobblestone, expecting to fall on my face but someone had caught me. I regained my thoughts and looked up at the person holding me. It was an older man, I'm assuming a professor. He was looking sharp in a suit and tie with Persol glasses.
"Thank you for saving me from falling on my face," I said chuckling.
He stared at me for a bit but then said, "You're welcome, we wouldn't want that to happen." It took me a second to realize what he had said but when I did, I smiled. He kept staring at me until I broke the silence.
"I have to get to class, but thanks again."
"Oh yeah, me too," he said as if he forgot he was a teacher. We headed in opposite directions. I kept thinking about the professor until I got into the classroom. There were a lot of students in this class. I started making my way to an uncrowded part of the class to the side. I took out a notebook for notes and then looked through my schedule on my phone for this week until the professor walked in. I didn't notice he had until he cleared his throat next to me-signaling for me to pay attention. I looked at everyone else, who was looking at me and then I looked up to find the man who had caught my fall earlier. He didn't notice until now it was me either and looked at me in shock. He regained his composure and walked down to his desk.
