The rest of the week goes by in a blur. Cassius doesn't let me leave the room, and Breakfast, lunch, and dinner and served to me in the bedroom.
My Heat lasted all week. Cassius was there to help me through it. Sometimes having sex three or four times a day.
My body is beyond sore and I wake up in the middle of the day with a clear mind. My body isn't tingling or burning and the sexual thoughts have stopped badgering my mind.
Cassius is still asleep when I limp over to the bathroom. I take a quick bath and dry off. Looking at myself in the mirror I see hickeys peppered all over my collarbone.
I have returned to my normal self and I no longer emit the aroma of a sex goddess.
Throwing on random clothes I leave Cassius sleeping and head downstairs to eat. The cook is there when I enter and she smiles lifting an eyebrow.
"What would you like?" She asks.
I ramble off a few different things and she disappears into the kitchen. "You left without me." A voice rumbles behind me.
"You were sleeping, Cassius. And I am hungry."
He takes a seat in front of me. "It's of safe for you to leave the room." His face is stern and I let out an exasperated sigh.
"My Heat is over, I'm fine now." I state.
I can see his jaw clench and I fumble with my fingers. He lifts his head and sniffs the air. "It appears so."
A plate of food is placed in front of me and I thank the cook. "Anything for you, Alpha?" The cook asks.
"Not right now."
She disappears behind the kitchen doors.
"Are you feeling okay, Eliza?"
"I'm fine. Just a little sore." I reply, truthfully.
"I'm sorry." His words shock me. I've never heard him apologize. His words stun me and I glance up from my food.
His eyes are worried and mouth is a straight line. "Don't be sorry, you have nothing to be sorry for, Cassius." My voice is soft and he grabs my hand.
"Should you see a Healer?" His hand squeezes mine.
"No. I just want to take a walk." A maid scurry a in through the kitchen doors. "Excuse me, can you send for Nadette and tell her to meet me outside?"
"Yes, Luna."
Standing up the cook takes my plate. "You're not going alone." He says, following me out the dinning room doors.
"I won't be alone," I roll my eyes. "I'll be with Nadette. I haven't seen her in a week."
He grabs my wrist and spins me around. "You can go, but stay within the borders." Tipping my head back, he gives me a quick peck.
I hurry outside and spot Nadette waiting for me. "Eliza!" She greets. Nadette wraps her arms around me. "I've missed you. How was your first Heat?"
We begin walking down the path towards the village. "Painful, but sweet."
"When my first Heat came, Abram would not leave my side. It was a crazy week. We tried out all the different po-"
"Nadette!" I screech. "I don't want to hear about that." She laughs.
"I never did get to tell you how grateful we are that the Alpha found you." She begins. "He got around a lot with the females and I was sorry for his future mate. But I see you're both so happy and he has changed his ways."
My blood boils. He never told me this. I always thought that he saved himself for me, as I did for him.
Nadette notices my mood change and stops walking. "Has he never told you?"
"No." My voice cracks.
Her face crumples. "I'm sorry, Eliza, that wasn't my position to tell you, I thought you knew."
"It's okay, thank you." I say. "Let's stay out a little longer."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Nadette introduced me to a couple village people, and we browsed through the outdoor market.
By the time we start heading back the sun is setting and my feet ache. My stomach still aches at the thought that Cassius had been with other women.
"See you soon, Ezra." Nadette waves, and I walk into the house.
"You've been gone a long time."
I jump, and notice it's only Cassius. "We had a lot of catching up." I breeze past him and up the stairs.
Following me, he says, "You're not supposed to be out that long."
Anger flares up and I spin around. "You can't tell me how long I get to be out. I don't have a curfew, I'm a grown woman!"
His jaw clenches and I continue up the stairs. "Eliza." He warns. I walk through our bedroom door. "You may be a grown woman, but I am still your Alpha."
I sit on the edge of the bed and pull my slippers off. Hot, angry tears threaten to spill down my cheeks. He notices and his features soften.
"What is wrong?" Cassius crouched down in front of her.
"You have slept with other women." I seethe. "And you never bothered to tell me."
He looks taken aback. "We didn't sleep, it was just sex, Eliza. No strings." I push him out of the way and start pacing the room.
"Just. Sex. I was a virgin until you happened!" Tears stream down my face and Cassius looks on helplessly.
"I couldn't wait, Eliza. I'm sorry."
I don't look at him. My heart tugs, and I try to stay mad at him. It's in the past, but I feel as I have been burned.
He comes up behind me and holds me. I stiffen. "Please, forgive me." Cassius kisses my temple. "They mean nothing to me."
Arching my neck I give him a quick peck and untangle ourselves. "I forgive you."
It was ridiculous of me to get upset over what he did in the past, and I feel foolish. "Are you hungry, shall I call a maid to fetch us dinner?"
"I ate with Nadette. I think I'm going to bed, my feet are awfully sore."
Slipping the dress over my head I pull on my nightwear. "Go eat, Cassius, I'll be fine."
My eye lids droop, and he leans down and captures my lips. Scooping me up into his arms he places me on the bed. "Goodnight, Eliza."
I can't help but feel a little wanting when he pulls away and flicks off the light.
Darkness overcomes me and I drift off to sleep.
