Delsia is the one who wakes me up. "Hey there, how are you doing?" She whispers. I smile sleepily.
"I'm good, just exhausted." I say.
"I was in the room but you didn't seem to notice me." She laughs.
I look around to see where Atlas is and notice Cassius asleep on the chair holding my baby. Our baby.
"I heard his name was Atlas." She smiles. I sit up a little.
"Yea, Cassius named him."
Delsia walks over to sleeping Cassius and takes the baby from him. He wakes up instantly and growls. "Shh, you'll wake him." Delsia scorns.
Cassius finds my eyes and smiles. He gets up and lays down next to me. "Hey," He greets wrapping an arm around me. "You feeling okay?"
His fingers trace over my arm and I inhale his scent. It makes me heady. I watch Delsia walk around the room holding the baby and I feel at ease. "I'm okay that your here now."
Cassius is home and the baby is here. "Where will we keep him?"
"In here." He states. I look around.
"We need a crib, Cassius."
"I'll ask the females in the village if they have one for us to use for now." Delsia says. "You will not believe what is happening in the village streets. People have been celebrating since last night."
I look at the little baby in Delsia's arms and I feel an overwhelming love. Is this how my mother felt toward me?
My heart aches a little for my mom but I won't forget the time I visited her.
"I'm starving." I state. I can feel Cassius inhaling my scent and it is making me hot. My chest swarms with butterflies and it's interrupted by the loud growl my stomach makes.
Delsia comes over to me and places Atlas back in my arms. "I'll go get you something, dear." She says, warmly.
The baby twitches slightly in his sleep and take ahold of his little hand. "This is amazing." I mutter. I feel Cassius's chest rumble with agreement.
"How did the rogue infestation go." I ask. "Do you have to go back?" My voice sounds panicky a little and I wince.
"It went fine. I got the population down and some of my men are staying up there to finish the rest." He kisses my forehead. "Nothing to worry about."
"Not to change the subject," Cassius starts. "But I want to have another pup before two years." My eyes widen.
"You're funny." I blurt out. "I can't think about that right now when just a few hours ago I was pushing a baby out of me." I know that when I heal he will pounce on me the moment he can.
His hands skim over my arm, and my body tingles.
He leans down and bites my ear teasingly. "I think you'll change your mind."
