Chapter 11

3rd P.O.V.

Nick and Judy walked back in, both of them lost in thought.

Judy knew Jack had feelings for her, that much was obvious, but the way he looked, the hurt in his voice...
She shook her head. Judy didn't return the feeling, and never will. She felt little guilt, and pushed it off, but it was still there.
She continued walking, not even noticing Nick's tail curling around her arm.

Nick was thinking about Jack, but instead of guilt, he felt pride. He was able to keep that flirty jackrabbit off his Judy.  He silently chuckled. "Heh, my Judy. I like it" He looked down at her and smiled, letting his tail wrap itself around Judy's arm.  His thoughts wandered. "We've only been dating for about a month now, maybe it's too early to ask... I'll wait for the perfect time" Judy looked up at him, now noticing his tail around her arm and laughed.
"By the gods, I would do anything for this bunny"

Little did they know, a certain chubby cheetah had been watching them  from behind the front desk with eyes glistening with joy and balled up paws under his rather massive chin, looking as if he might burst.

And not from all the doughnuts he's eaten.

Jack had already resumed and finished training by the time they arrived, paw in paw, gazing into each other's eyes.
"What a cliche" Jack thought to himself and turned away, disgusted. He didn't know why they hadn't given up on each other yet. Interspecies relationships never work, yet here are the first rabbit and fox cops, the very two solved the missing mammal cases single handedly, and just a short six months later, Judy  Hopps gave the badge to our first fox officer, neither of them knowing it would bring them here.

Nick's P.O.V

Judy suddenly let go of my paw, her own going to her temple as her other paw went to her stomach, her face  with pain. I immediately fell to my knees, holding her shoulders and looking at her with worry.
"Judy! Are you alright? Do you need a doctor?" I ask, worried.
"N-no, Nick, I'm... I'm fine." She said, recovering from her sudden migraine.
"You're sure you're alright?"
"Yes, Nick. Now stop fussing over me. I'm fine."
I stood hesitantly, and kept a close eye on her for the rest of the day.

~Time skip~

We clocked out at six, and were walking back to the apartment, when Judy suddenly started lightly tugging at my arm.
"Nick, I'm starving!" After a few seconds of silence, she said "Ooh! Let's go there!"
I glanced down, then over to where she was pointing at. It was a restaurant called 'Pred 'N Prey Grill.'
I raised an eyebrow at her, but shrugged, "Okay, sure."

Judy's P.O.V

When we walked in through the doors, I immediately smelled a mixture of insects, seafood, and vegetables.  The inside looked cool, and a little rustic. We got our table and menus, deciding on what to eat.

"Wow" I marveled, "this place has everything." I was looking at some herbivore dishes, and spared a glance at the carnivore dishes, and that's when a dish caught my eye.

Nick snorted, "Yeah, no kidding Carrots, what're you getting?"
I hummed, smiling. I wanted to keep it a secret from him, he'll never expect it.
"Keeping it a secret, eh? That's fine, that's fine." He said, smirking, crossing his arms, looking at me from across the table.

A wolf waitress came and we stated our orders.
"What will you have, sir?"
"I would like the medium salmon steak, with French fries and coleslaw, thanks."
She hummed while writing the order down.
"I will have the small fish filet, with ranch dip, please."
I looked up from the menu to see their faces with incredulous looks upon them.
"What?" I asked innocently.
Nick's ears were splayed in shock while he talked, "Nothing, just thought you would order something a little more... green."
The waitress spoke up, "Would you like it extra small? And drinks?"
"Yes please! Oh, and uhh... two Colas?" I looked over at Nick, who nodded in agreement.

The waitress walked off, taking our menus.
Nick asked, "You really want fish?"
I shrugged, "Sure, try everything, right?"
He dragged a paw across his muzzle. "You're craving it, aren't you?"
I smiled sheepishly, "You saw right past it, huh?"
He sighed, "Alright, we're getting you to a doctor tomorrow and that's that. It's not normal for a bunny to crave meat."
"Fine~" I dragged.

A few minutes later, our food came, and the fish smelled great.
I looked at it, doubting myself, but eventually, I took a bite.
My eyes widened, it was amazing!
"Nick! This is delicious!" I took another bite, savoring the flavor.
I looked at Nick who was taking another bite of his salmon steak, his sharp teeth fully showing and biting down onto the fish.
He laughed nervously, and said, "Sorry, Whiskers"
I was confused, "For what?"
"I kinda forgot that your species used to be... ah... eaten by my species."
"Don't be sorry, Nick" I started, "Maybe you'll even be able to use those teeth on me later." I said seductively, smiling slyly.

Nick's P.O.V

"I walked right into that one"
"Sly bunny" was all I said as we continued eating.

~Time Skip~

I trudged up the stairs leading to our apartment, Judy already at the top.
"C'mon, foxy!" She giggled.
"You bunnies, always so full of energy." I shook my head jokingly.
I made it to the top, opening our door, hearing Judy close and lock it behind her, and made my way to our bedroom, where I was tackled onto the bed by Judy.
"Goodnight, Fluff." I said nuzzling her.
"Goodnight, Nicky." She replied, dozing off.
