Chapter 10

Two weeks later

Judy's P.O.V

Two weeks has passed. Two weeks. I don't know how I made it. Of course me and Nick had alone time outside of work, but nothing compares to having to deal with Jack's constant flirting. For two weeks.
I swear Nick is about to kill him and I don't blame him. I actually felt like punching Jack a couple times. But I didn't.

Right now, we were in target practice. I had a little trouble hitting the dot, due to my dizziness, while Nick was having no trouble at all letting his frustrations out with the help of the gun.

I had started getting dizzy yesterday, and I could usually shrug it off, but I've started thinking it's something else...

Nick glanced over at me and winked. I winked back, smiling.
It went on like this for a while, until I was so sick of having to hide our relationship, I decided to do something.

After practice, I dragged Nick over to a corner of the room and made sure no one was looking.
"Yes, Fluff?" He whispers.
"I'm sick of hiding us. I want to show everybody, even Jack, so he can finally stop flirting with me." I whisper yelled, annoyed. He smirked, picked me up, then said, very loudly,
"I love you Judy."
I smiled, "I love you too, Nick"
I wrapped my arms around his neck. He leaned in to kiss me and I met him halfway.

What happened next was not at all what I was expecting. I don't think Nick was either. After we pulled apart, everyone congratulated us. Well, everyone except Jack Savage.
His face contorted in disgust and he walked away. I didn't care. Not in the slightest.

Clawhauser was squealing and was on the phone, talking to someone about Pennington and a bet.

He eventually made his way up to us, and asked, "How long have you too been a couple?"
Everyone went silent in interest. I looked at Nick, who was still holding me.
"About three weeks, right, Carrots?"
I smiled. "Sounds about right."
"ThREe WeEKs?!" Clawhauser yelled. "Why didn't you tell us?"
"Well, we weren't quite sure how you guys would react, seeing as interspecies relationships weren't well liked in Zootopia." I said, looking down, embarrassed.
"Aww, Judy, Nick. You know we wouldn't not like you guys." He said.
"Thanks again everybody, you have no idea what a load this is off our shoulders." Nick said, chuckling. "Now, where is Mr. Savage?" He finished mischievously, looking around.
I let go of Nick's neck, falling to the ground and taking his paw.

"I believe he went outside." Chief Bogo said, walking up.
"Let's go Nick" I say, slightly tugging his paw towards the entrance.
Bogo stopped us. "Don't make him angry. Just explain."
The others left, getting back to whatever case they were working on.
"O-okay." I said, pulling Nick to the entrance.
He chuckled. "Calm down Carrots. If I didn't know you, I'd assume you want to show off?"
"Who wouldn't want to show off such a handsome fox as their mate?" I answered.
His tail swayed, and brushed against my back, making me shiver slightly with pleasure.
"He he, calm down Cottontail. I'm already your mate. If you wanted, after work, we could..." He whispered, making me blush.

Before I could reply, we were outside, right in front of Jack.

Nick's P.O.V

I felt nothing but hate for the jackrabbit in front of me.

Judy spoke softly, trying to not upset him. "Jack?"
"What do you want you... you disgrace to your species?" He spat.
I growled, "Watch what you say to my mate."
He turned around, "And that's another thing. Why choose a fox as a mate? Haven't you heard that interspecies relationships never work?"
"Well, your wrong." Judy stated matter of factly.
"Why do you believe in that garbage?" I scoffed.
He didn't answer.
Instead, he said, "I don't want to see any funny business while I'm here. Got it?" He said sharply, whilst turning around and walking back inside.
