Roger had just sold a newly remodeled, two story ranch home on the north side of town. He had made a nice profit and was in great spirits, excited about going home to Darcie.

He started his truck and headed for home, or rather, to the cabin. It had become so easy to think of the old place as home over the last few weeks. All off the awkwardness he felt being surrounded by his gramps old things had vanished with the presence of Darcie.

If things worked out the way Roger wanted, he had no problem packing up his house and moving back to the cabin to be closer to her. If that was what she wanted.

He laughed to himself, knowing damn sure he would move to the end of the universe if it meant that she would be his forever. But for now, he just couldn't wait to celebrate with her.

I'm going to marry that girl someday, he thought as he turned down Main St.

He sighed to himself, remembering how beautiful she had looked nestled in his bed. Her short locks spread across his pillow, a soft smile on her face. Her eyes were clouded over with a mixture of raw satisfaction and exhaustion. As long as he lived he knew he would never forget the feel of her body under his, or her nails scraping gently down his back.

He glanced at his watch. Darcie had said dinner was at seven. Briefly, he wondered if she had thought to grab a bottle of wine. He shrugged before deciding that he had plenty of time to get one just in case. Besides, he had just made a big sale and that was definitely worth celebrating.

*~*~*

Lily was keeping herself busy in the kitchen. She found if she sat too long unoccupied that it was hard to keep her mind at ease. For some undetermined reason she had the irresistible urge for steak and potatoes. She reached into the fridge and pulled out a wrapped slab of beef.

Almost immediately, Lily's mind began to flutter with visions of Darcie.

Lily could sense the fear- the apprehension. The pictures weren't clear in her mind, but she heard words being spoken as if they were said right next to her.

"Write it!" she heard a very male voice demand. "I'll kill you both, I swear to God."

The beef that Lily held in her hands dropped to the floor with a dull thud. She could hear the clank of metal in her mind, knowing she had heard that sound before. Handcuffs, it had to be. She heard a young dog yelp and saw the blur of fur as it was shoved across the floor.

Lily fought with her brain to show her more, clearer images preferably, but came up empty. It had been a long time since a vision had left Lily so rattled. Her head pounded, but she had understood enough of the message to understand its urgency.

Quickly, Lily snatched the phone off the hook on her kitchen wall.

Hopefully this was an image of the future, and not an image of the past or present. She wasn't sure who to call- Darcie, Roger or the Police.
