Joey's POV
I woke up with a huge chill. Where am I? I thought. I wasn't in my bed, as the ground beneath me was too hard. I felt arms around me, so I must be with Shane. I rubbed my eyelids and opened my eyes. It was really dark out, except for a faint glow above my head. I slowly pushed off Shane's arm so I wouldn't wake him, and I sat up. I looked around. We were still on the beach! Were we even aloud to be here at this time? I checked my watch, it's only 2am?
"Shane, Shane babe, wake up."
I didn't want to sleep here the rest of the night, I don't even know if we're suppose to be here! Shane groaned, flipping over.
"Shane, we are still on the beach! Get up babe!"
I hushed, hastily poking his side so he'd wake up.
"Joey..."
He groaned putting his arms above his head.
"Shane! It's 2am, we are still out here. Get up or I'm gonna drag you into the freaking water!"
I loudly whispered, scared someone would hear us.
"Why are you whispering?"
Shane said bluntly.
"Why am I whispering? Shane it's two fucking AM and we are on the middle of a beach and I don't even know if we are aloud to be here right now and-"
"Joey,"
Shane cut me off, stretching his arms above his head then stading up, beside where I have been pacing the past minute.
"Live a little."
He said, grabbing my arm, dragging me towards the water.
"Shane, don't you dare..."
I said, looking at the icy water. He grabbed around my waist and easily lifted me up.
"Shane... SHANE!"
I warned, and he inched closer. The dark waves rushed up the sand closer and closer to us.
"SHANE I SWEAR!"
I yelled, fists hitting his shoulder. We got closer and closer until, finally, he spun around and ran me away from the water. He let me down, panting from carrying me and running. He was laughing as we walked over to the blanket.
"What the fuck was that Shane?!"
I screeched, following him to our little "bed"
"I wanted to hear you scream."
He winked, I rolled my eyes.
"You scared the crap out of me!"
I whined. He grabbed my hand as we walked over to the blanket, we were both suddenly wide awake.
"Do you see that?"
Shane whispered. I looked around.
"Where?"
I asked quietly, scared of what I was looking for.
"There's something over there."
Shane pointed, out to our right. I looked that was and saw a shadow, walking slowly to wards us.
"Shane... Shane, I'm scared."
I whispered, cuddling into his side, walking faster with him.
Shane's POV
I have to say, I was scared too.
"It's fine."
I comforted.
"Only a person on a walk..."
"At 2 AM?!"
Joey whisper screeched. I have to say he made a good point. Who would be walking along the beach at 2 in the morning?
"Joey, let's go."
I urged, finally reaching our blanket. Joey quickly folded the blanket, shoving it into the basket, along with our garbage littered around our feet.
"Hurry, I hear "it"."
He urgently whispered. I brabved down the lights, looking for a switch to shut them off.
"Shane, let's just go."
I heard the nerve in his voice. He was scared. I eventually d the switch, quickly shutting it off. We quickly ran out from around the trees. The person was really close. Joey didn't notice, and kept walking. I just stared for a second. He looked farmiliar... His features were hard to make out in the dark. He was not poor, he had nice clothes, a pair of jeans and shirt. He looked around 50, maybe late forties. I could be wrong though, I can't really tell. I just felt like... I knew him. He just waved at us, and continued walking.
"Shane."
Joey whispered. He walked forward, grabbing my hand. The man smiled, and continued on his unknown journey. I followed Joey out to the car. I couldn't help but feel I knew him. I didn't know from where though,
And I Guess I Never Will.
