Waitress (Erin)'s POV
I walked down to the front desk of IHOP. It was a slow day. No one was here, I sat on the stool and stared out of the clear glass door. It was a slightly gloomy day, unlike the beautiful, chilly day yesterday. I decided to go on my phone, as a last resort of boredom. I was on tumblr, scrolling through YouTube fandoms. It was always a dream of mind to become a YouTuber, someone like Shane Dawson, or Joey Graceffa, two of my personal favorites. My thoughts were interrupted by a bell, indicating that someone has entered the restaurant.
"Finally."
I muttered under my breath. I looked up, prepared to recite the words I said all too often, when I realized who was standing before me. Two men, holding hands. One was frantically looking around nervously, as if to make sure no one was watching him, the other stared cooly at me, calm and collected.
"Table for two?"
He asked, and looked around at the emptiness of the place. Shane. And he was with Joey, at a restaurant, holding hands. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, not to bug them and all, so I managed to squeek out a quiet,
"Right this way."
Before they followed me to a table to their right.
"I-I'm Erin."
I stuttered, flustered and nervous. Of course I wanted them to know I was a huge fan, but I kept that part to myself and pushed through.
"C-can I take... I mean would you like me to... Do you want drinks?"
I was so embarassed. My two idols, sitting here, at my job that I am normally pretty good at, and I am a wreck. Shane seems to find it amusing, slight grin on his face, while Joey seems... Distant. His minds somewhere else.
"Orange Juice for me."
Shane said, making me realize why I was standing here. I frantically nodded, hastily righting down the order before I lost my train of thought again.
"Oh, um I'll just have water please."
Joey said, realizing it was his turn to speak.
"B-Be right back."
I mumbled, heading to the kitchen, my feet walking quickly against the carpeted flooring.
Joey's POV
Crap she knows us. I should have known this was a bad idea. I told myself, you shouldn't go out in public until you come out. But, of course, Shane had that affect on me. He made me forget all my promises and agree with him. Before I could confront Shane, the young waitress quickly shuffled back over to us, huge grin on her tan face, replacing the awestruck look from before. She wore her brown hair up in a messy bun, wore glasses which reminded me of Tyler's, and her faint accent told me she was probably from Canada. Her small hazel eyes showed us she definetly knew who we were.
"Your drinks."
She said, handing them out to us, more collected then before.
"Would you like to order?"
She asked, and Shane looked up at me.
"You ready?"
He asked, and I nodded.
"I would like one pancake and some eggs."
I smiled kindly at her as she fumbled with her pen. Shane rolled his eyes at my somewhat healthy choice.
"I will have three chocolate chip pancakes."
He replied, she nodded and left.
"Shane, she knows who we are."
I said, making sure she wasn't in ear shot.
"Yeah? So?"
He asked.
"So?!"
I hissed.
"Shane, you know what our fans are like! One minute we are on a date, the next minute we are all over the internet!"
I whisper-yelled.
"Hey, whatever happens happens!"
He said. Why was he so calm about this?
"Shane, don't you want to come out? Together? Instead of being leaked onto the Internet?"
He just shook his head.
"Fine, whatever. Guess I'm not that important."
I stated. He opened his mouth to speak, probably some snarky remark, but Erin rushed to us with our breakfast.
"Here you go!"
She said, placing our plates in front of us.
"Thanks, doll."
I said, winking at her. Shane glared at me. I smirked as she giggled.
"Don't worry about me by the way."
She said.
"I love you both so much, I'm not going to tell anyone about this, I just really hope you guys tell everyone soon!"
She smiled, then walked away.
"Slut."
Shane coughed.
Shane's POV
"Exuse me?"
Joey asked.
"You heard me."
I said. I knew what he was doing. Trying to flirt with that Erin chick knowing he'd get away with it. Why not fight fire with fire?
"I am not a slut."
He protested.
"Said the gay guy flirting with an 18 year old girl."
I shot back. He rolled his eyes.
"Whatever Shane."
He finished, and we ate our meals in silence, staring at the table and our food, not looking at eachother. About 10 minutes later, Erin came back with the check.
"Thanks girl!"
Joey grinned, she giggled. I just sat and glared. They talked, we tool a picture, they said goodbye, I grabbed Joey's hand, and I pulled him out of the restaurant.
