Chapter 20

Joel's P.O.V

   Today was going to be a great day, I could feel it!! Okay I have to admit ever since I got Annabeth's text last night I had been in a pretty great mood. Not even school could ruin it. And plus today was the beginning of the soccer season. I'm honestly really excited for this year. I do have to admit however that the tension between our teammates is going to be pretty bad. Why? Well both Jeremiah and Ezequiel are in the soccer team... And well after the fight things have been complicated.

Johann offered to kick them out of the team not long ago, but as much as I would love to do that we really can't afford to loose two players. We really didn't have enough time to have tryouts. And plus the Cardenas twins are really great players and we can't really get to the finals without them. So all we have left to do is simply to suck it up. It is definitely going to be hard to practice now... But hey Jeremiah deserved it and plus Ezequiel should have just stayed out of it.

But thanks to him I got to kiss Annabeth but I also got a bruise. But Annabeth oh gosh she was so beautiful. I just couldn't wait to get to school. She's in my first period and I was really excited to see her. But if I didn't hurry I wouldn't make it to school to start with. So I quickly get dressed. I grab some skinny jeans and my white v neck. I quickly throw in some black shoes and of course my leather jacket. I quickly then proceed to do my hair and as soon as I'm satisfied with how my hair looks, I grab my soccer bag and backpack.

An soon enough I'm downstairs in the kitchen. "Buenos Dias mi vida, vas a querer almorzar antes de irte ? Oh no más quieres una barra otra vez?" My mom asked as soon as she saw me. "Um mejor me como un yogurt," I said as I made my way to the fridge to grab one. "Okay, pero estas bien? te noto como diferente hoy," she said a bit worried. "Estoy más que bien," I said in a very exciting voice. "Que bien mi amor espero que tengas un hermoso día y pórtate bien," she said as she kissed my forehead and made her way upstairs. Probably to wake up my brothers.

Well that was my cue to leave, I quickly then grab my car keys and head outside. I then proceed to open my car and I get inside and start the engine. This day was going to be amazing I tell you. And with that I'm soon on my way to school... As soon as I get out my car my eyes are blessed with the presence of seeing Annabeth get out of Yoandri's car. She looks so beautiful today, I mean she looks beautiful everyday but you get the point. She quickly turns around and starts heading for the front doors.

I wait a few minutes and then I start heading towards the front doors too. Before I head to class I better go leave my soccer stuff in the locker room, as much as I love soccer I really don't like carrying my things around everywhere. So I start making my way to the boys locker room. As I make my way through the hallway I walk past a group of girls and they immediately start giggling like crazy. I am aware of my looks but sometimes I wish girls would look past that, you know? I'm way more than just a pretty face... But anyways the only girl I care about right now is Annabeth.

Talking about her I better hurry or I won't make it to class in time... But I do make it on time and I'm glad I did because I get to spend more time with Annabeth. Sadly I couldn't really talk to her like I wanted too because well, Yoandri was here. But through class I would make small conversations here and there and it was pretty cool. I even made her blush a couple of times and I still couldn't get over how cute she looked when she blushed. I also had to keep the staring down to a minimum because I think Yoandri was starting to suspect there was something going on... Maybe I'll tell him during lunch. Maybe...

*skips to lunch*

During lunch Yoandri was pretty quite but he had brought some delicious cookies to share. By sharing I mean giving only one too me. He was like protecting them with his life. I love this kid to death but he could get pretty weird sometimes. "Um Yoandri are you okay?" I ask chuckling a bit. "Y-Yeah why wouldn't I be?" He replied stuttering. "Well you been hugging the cookie bag for a while now," I said pointing at the almost now empty cookie bag. "It's just they are my precious," he said in a weird voice.

"What are you on kid? But yeah they are pretty good," I said laughing. "You are right I need to calm down I just there is this thing that has been bothering me all day," he said sounding a bit worried. "Wanna talk about it?" I ask him nicely. "It's just there is this girl I really like but I don't know if it's right and then I'm really nervous for Annabeth," he said quickly. "Well first if you really like this girl you should tell her and plus nothing should be able to get between you and her," I said quoting what my mom had told me.

"You are right I'll see when I can tell her and thank you Joel this is why you are my best friend you are always there for me," he said as he looked at me. "That's what friends are for and plus you are also always there for me and about Annabeth why are you nervous for her?" I ask trying to sound as normal as ever. "Well you see today are the cheerleading tryouts and well she's going to tryout and I'm just really nervous you know," he replied back. Annabeth was tryout for the cheerleading team?!

I heard you had to be pretty flexible and stuff to do that... I could not stop a few dirty images from appearing in my head. Thank goodness Yoandri couldn't read or see thoughts... Anyways I quickly try my best to shake off the images from my head. "Well I'm sure she'll do great don't worry just have faith on her," I said honestly. "You are right thank you once again, now I better head back to class," he said as he stood up.

"Don't mention it but yeah I better start heading back too hey by the way I have something to do after school so I might be late to practice so I will need you to take my place for a few minutes," I said quickly. "Don't worry I got you but don't come back with five minutes left of practice," he said laughing as he disappeared around the hallway. Don't worry I won't be long I thought to myself. Well I guess I have somewhere to be soon so my plan better work out.
