Once dinner is done, you walk sadly back to your common room, Blaise by your side talking to Crabbe and Goyle. You fall onto your usual couch the minute you enter the room, almost in tears with worry. Where could he be?

You cover your face with your hands and eventually fall asleep.

You don't know how long you've been in that position before someone takes your hand. It's Draco. You sit up and give him a hard, long hug. "Where have you been?" you demand, smacking him on the arm.

"Ow," he says, rubbing the spot. "Potter attacked me. Sorry I worried you."

Your sympathy grows. "He attacked you? How? Where? Are you okay? What happened? Why?" He laughs and covers your mouth to prevent you from speaking.

"Enough with the questions. I think Potter just suspects I'm up to something. I was angry, so I shot a curse at him, and he fought back." He shrugs. "But I'm fine now. Snape helped me."

"Snape?" You raise an eyebrow. "Oh...kay. I'm just glad you're alright," you say, hugging him again. "If you need any help, just let me know."

"Thanks," he says, smiling. He squeezes your hand then leaves you alone in the common room.

You're disappointed that he'll have to kill Dumbledore tomorrow. You wish that Potter wasn't so thick, that he would protect Draco. But Draco seems confident enough, and at least he'll still be alive.

You fall asleep on the couch again, your hands folded over your chest.

The next morning, you wake with a start. You had the most horrible dream you've ever had before. You and Draco were on the Astronomy Tower, but Draco had his wand pointed at you instead of Dumbledore, who was right beside you. A green light flashed from Draco's wand, and before you could dodge, or do anything, it hit you. And then you woke up.

You wipe some lingering sweat off of your brow. "I'm so glad that was just a dream," you say to the silent common room. Wait. Does that dream...mean something? Will it go down on the Astronomy Tower tonight? If it does, maybe I can do something to stop it. I can block Draco's curse and then deal with the consequences. He can blame me.

Tonight, I really will save two lives.
