~Chapter Three~
From One Hell to Another~*~
The gunshots were fired and Nathaniel had successfully killed his fifth rabbit in a row. I never knew he could hunt.
The two of us were circling the area around the campsite, getting rabbit for or last meal in Perdition. We walked in peaceful silence through the overgrown flora and listened to the sound of the early morning birds chirping.
Nathaniel broke the silence with an unusual question,"Marinette, what does Chloe think of me?"
I smiled at his question. I thought I could see a bit of an attraction there."I am not sure. But i think that she likes you. She definitely does not hate you. She WAS the one to ask for me to invite you."
"Good. I was just doubting it. I always thought that maybe she just thought I was a bit of a loner who draws."
"No, she just thinks your... interesting," I said,"if you like her, why don't you ask her out?"
"She probably say no. Girls like her must be asked out all the time."
If only he knew, I thourght."Did you hear the jet planes past night?" I asked, changing the subject.
"Oh yeah. When I woke up there were hundreds flying above us."
"What do you think that is all about?" I ask.
He smiled and shrugged,"it is probably the start of World War Three and we don't even know it," he said jokely.

After we ate the rabbit, we all began to pack away our things, preparing to set off back to the land rover and go back home. It was sad to leave Perdition, it was so beautiful and peaceful. We all really strengthened our friendships here. But school starts the next week and we had to get back into routine.
Nino picked up his sleeping bag but immediatly dropped it after hearing a loud hiss coming from inside it. Nino's eyes widened in fear,"there's a bloody snake in the sleeping bag!"
We stood around the bag,"would it e poisonous?"
Nathaniel grabbed a stick and poked the spot the snake was. It moved angrily and hissed again, making us stumble back,"there are a lot of red bellies out here."
"Are they poisonous?"Alya asked axiously.
"No," Nathaniel sighed,"unless of course they bite you. Then yes." I gulped as Nino picked up the other end of the sleeping bag as Nathaniel lifted the top. Almost immediately, the snake zipped out.
We all ran away from the snake. Adrien managed to climb a tree and Chloe stepped into the creek for some reason. It slithered around angrily- first chasing Alya then Nino. Then it came over to me.
I tripped on rocks and I sat there face to face with the dangerous red bellie, about to pounce. But out of nowhere, Adrien came in and knocked it out with a stick to the head.
I huffed in relief to see the unconscious snake. I looked up at Adrien and blushed. He held out a hand to help me up."Thanks,"I mumbled.
Nino grabbed his knees in shock."I'm not sleeping in that sleeping bag again,"he exclaimed,"Jesus Christ!"
"Don't swear!"Myléne scolded. Her family was religious by the way.
"Yeah Nino, don't bloody swear!" Adrien joked.
