Chapter 20

Eight years old
Cody's POV
Last year went well and I'm worried because we are sending our oldest pups to Alpha camp to complete Alpha training. But for now, it's still early. It Friday today and it's a few hours before school gets out and I've decided on a family trip to the zoo tomorrow to let the pups see the animals. But now to the situation at hand, there are two students in my office. "Why am I here I did nothing wrong," said a male student who I believe is the culprit. "Mrs Sparks their names and what happened," I asked the teacher who brought these two students in here. "Yes Mr Firestone this is Mark West and the other is Cindy Jacobs they were passing each other in the lunchroom when I caught Mark punch her in the stomach so hard she coughed blood," said Mrs Sparks clearly and I caught no sign of lying so it must be true. "Liar" snarled Mark and charged for Mrs Sparks and I flew out of my desk chair and stood in front of Mrs Sparks since she a human whose mated to one of our warriors and took a job at the school as a math teacher.

"Enough" I roared and it reverberated through the room and Mark froze dropping to his knees and baring his neck and I looked I over at Cindy to she was frozen her neck bared and eyes completely dark but her arms were coving her head as if she was going to get hit. "Right that's enough of that you will not harm any of our human teachers now what happened in the lunch room," I said with the slightest growl at the end. "It's just as Mrs Sparks said I passed Cindy in the lunchroom I punch her in the stomach" he replied. "And why do you do this," I asked. "Because she's the weakest in our year and everyone knows she's beaten by her stepfather and her mom does nothing about it because she's depressed from the loss of her true mate" he answered. "It stops today you have three weeks detention and I want the names of all Cindy's bullies by the end of the day now both you and Mrs Sparks leave so I can talk to Cindy" I asked and he stood up and bowed before leaving and Mrs Sparks followed after him and I closed the office door quietly and walked over to Cindy who was still frozen in place.

"Cindy" I called out softly and she cautiously lifted her head and looked at me with tear-filled eyes that were just so hollow and full of desolation. She fell onto me clutching onto my shirt and started crying in my arms and I held her until she let it all out, she's tall and is quite grown I'd say she fifteen or sixteen. "I'm s-sorry Alpha I got your shirt all soggy," she said. "That's quite alright I just want to know what's going on at home and how old are you," I asked softly the same way I would speak to my own daughters. "I turned Sixteen a week ago" she spoke gentle and quiet whilst still holding onto me. "My dad died when I started high school and then my mom remarried my stepdad But my mom had already sunk into depression and barely notices a thing. My stepdad is violent and he beats me up and forces me to clean and starves me sometimes and doesn't allow me to bathe and that's all" she said but I feel like there is something that she is not telling me all the details. "Oh I best get going school has ended," She said.

"Okay but where do you live," I asked. "I live in the new village that was made last year at number 20," she said and got up of me wiped her eyes and walked out of my office saying the most solum goodbye I had ever heard. When I get home it's tea time and everyone is waiting for me so I sit down and everyone starts eating. "So Cody how was your day you smell salty like tears," said Chase. "Do you know Cindy Jacobs?" I asked. "Yes, she's an overachiever and a very sweet person, why" he replied. "I think her family situation is bad," I said and ate my dinner whilst deep in thought and then I heard a defeated howl that sounded full of terror as well as sadness. I jumped over our table and ran outside just in time and shifted into my wolf shredding my clothes, I sat back and howled and waited and I got the sad howl back and I raced off in that direction, I could also feel I was being followed by two wolves and two dragons who I sensed were Chase, Leon, Ronnie and Ralph.

I came to the edge of the tree line to see wolf villa and I looked over at number 20 to see the back door ripped off its hinges and a gaping hole in the silhouette of a wolf. "Look over there" I snarled and all four of them followed my gaze. But then I heard a growl then a yelp as well a panting and before I knew I was running towards the sound and when I came across two wolves one is a male and he seemed to be drunk and under him is a small female who is not full-grown and then I realise who the female is and I snarled but the stepdad is to busy to hear me so I walked to where he could see me and pushed him of Cindy and when he had fallen back I smelled it cum and I saw red and went straight for the throat but got pinned under a dragon though it did not put its full weight on me enough to keep me in place.

I snarl and claw under the dragon but it's armoured sales are thick enough I only create a small amount of damage. "Cody you need to shift otherwise you'll scare Cindy whose already shifted into her human form and is crying she needs you to be a calm Alpha, not a raging beast" said Leon softly so I stopped struggling and shifted back to my human form and a pair of shorts was thrown at me so I shoved them on and calmed down before looking around at the scene the stepdad was in his human form be escorted away by Ronnie also in his human form and Ralph who is remaining in his dragon form. I then looked over at Cindy to see her covered by a blanket shaking and sobbing quietly to herself, chase and Leon are trying to comfort her but she is growling at them because she thinks they're a danger to her.

"Cindy it's me, Alpha Cody, can you tell me what happened," I said although it's obvious what happened. "I-i-i tried to get away but it happened again and now everyone knows" she cried whilst holding the blanket tighter. "This has happened before" I choked out watching Cindy as I said this she looked up with the most sorrow-filled expression I had ever seen. I sat down next to Cindy and pulled her into my chest and let her breathe in my scent whilst rocking back and forth and soon after I heard soft snoring so I got up and took her to the packhouse and dressed her sleeping form before leaving her to sleep in our female pups room. I then went down to the dungeon to find the stepdad.

"What's your name" I snarled threateningly. "My name's Vincent Green" he answered. "Why did you rape Cindy Jacobs your stepdaughter" I growled. "Why she had it coming to her she knows if she doesn't do her chores and gets lower scores on tests she's punished," he said completely calm like it was no big deal. "Do you know what rape is" I growled out punching the nearest wall making it crack all away up. "Yes and I have done no such thing now you will let me return home at once" he growled. "Oh so you think that way, you are not going home or anywhere I'm keeping you here unless Cindy gives you one of the other two choices and your not originally from this pack are you," I said. "No, I'm not" I replied. "You are to live out the rest of your days here you will get food and water regularly and clean clothes every three weeks you are also prohibited from turning into your wolf for the first month here and if you do you will be beaten severely" I said and walked away I needed rest for my day out tomorrow.
