CHAPTER 3:
FRIDAY NIGHT
I glanced in the mirror, happy with what I was wearing. It was tight a black dress that shaped my figure nicely, and I topped off the outfit with ruffling my hair, applying some more make up, putting on my pumps, and adding some bracelets.
“Roseeeeee?” I call loudly.
I hear someone trip and then fall.
“Rose?” I ask again, now more frantically.
She starts laughing and then says, “You know, I really shouldn’t wear heels. I always trip and fall, and then somehow hurt myself.”
To my relief, I chuckle before replying, “That may be a good idea, we don’t want Colton to have to carry you back to your dorm again like last time.”
“Ugh I guess so, I’ll go change into my sandals and then we can start walking over soon.”
Rosie was wearing a pink flowy dress that was beautiful by itself, but she topped it off with a simple necklace. The only thing she switched on her outfit were the shoes, which was for obvious reasons.
After changing her shoes, she comes to sit on the couch in our room where I’m laying.
“So, did Colton ever surprise you?” I ask her.
She blushes before answering me, “You were right after all… it turns out he arranged for us to go to Spain during fall break. That wasn’t even the best part for me. He got a bag of Reese’s cups, because he knows they're my favorite sweet, and on every single piece in the pack, he wrote a different thing he loved about me on them. It was honestly so adorable.”
“Awwwwww, Rose!” I coo.
She blushes some more before asking, “So, how are you and Bryon? Tell me all. I saw him looking at you across the breakfast room this morning.”
“It’s complicated. I like meeting up with him and hanging out, but he’s just a typical high school douche bag. Don’t get me wrong, he’s hot as hell, but I still wouldn’t want to get into a serious relationship with him. For now, I’ll just hook up with him until I get bored.”
"Have you… you know, done it yet?”
I break eye contact, and laugh awkwardly. My reaction has made it clear that we have.
Rosie sighs, “You know, Cinnie, I used to be like you. You just need to find the right person, and then staying committed won’t be a problem for you at all. You crave to be with that person all the time, and waking up in the morning becomes your favorite part of the day because you get to see them again.”
“I know, and I will find that guy, whoever he may be. But for now, I’ll have fun and party until I find him.”
“If that’s the way you want to look at it, then so be it. Don’t be surprised when you find the right guy and he gets appalled by your lifestyle, though. Anyways, enough about that. All the girls are talking about the new guy. He seemed cute. What was his name again?”
“Finn. Finn Harries.”
“He’s a cutie, Cin. Don’t you think so?”
I laugh before replying, “Definitely. We talked in class today; he’s a charmer.”
“You should talk to him! He seems like someone would take care of you. I haven’t known him for long, but he definitely seems charming lad.”
“I suppose. I hope we get to talk more, though. He’s fun to be around." I glance at my watch, realizing it was almost 7.
"Rose, we’re almost late. Let’s get going!”
“Alright,” she huffs back, annoyed.
We both grab our purses before walking out of our dorm. As I walk down the halls, I silently tell myself, "Get ready for a crazy Friday night, Cin."

The music was loud. Too loud. My ears were ringing to the sound of some kind of remix. With this much music, we would usually get caught. However, since it’s a Friday night and the teachers themselves went out for some fun, we can make the music as loud as we want.
When I first walked in, I spotted some of my friends including Amelia, Eva, and some others. I hadn’t found Byron, so I decided to have some innocent fun with my friends.
We danced together, making up random dance moves as we went, until I realized that one by one, my friends were leaving to dance with other guys.
I went to the corner of the room, sulking silently as I watched all my friends have the time of their lives dancing with some random guy, doing things they wouldn’t even be able to remember in the morning because they were so drunk.
I had drunk a beer, but it didn’t have an effect on me because I wasn’t a lightweight. I was able to remain focused, unlike my intoxicated friends, because I didn’t drink any more liquor.
Suddenly, I spot a familiar face. He’s already the center of the party. Girls that hadn’t seen the “hot new guy” before were finally getting their share, and they were enjoying every second of it.
I try to catch his attention and scream above the loud music, “Finn!”
He doesn’t turn around. Why is he not turning around? I hurriedly walk up to him, tapping his shoulder.
“Finn! You’re here! I’m so glad you decided to come!”
He turns around, and has an extremely confused face. Suddenly, he starts laughing. And by laughing, I mean dying laughing.
I’m confused. Why is he laughing? Did I spill something on my dress? Is there something on my face?
He finally catches his breath and says, “They didn’t tell you, did they?”
“What are you talking about?”
“There are two of us. I’m not Finn, I’m his twin. My name is Jack. And you are?” He extends out his arm for a handshake.
There's two of them? I look at him intently, and realize he has some different features compared to his brother. Unlike Finn, he has a less prominent jaw line, with a slightly more oval face. His smile is different, but still charming. His hair is styled a slightly different way, but other then that, their looks are identical.
“Oh my God, this makes so much sense now. I apologize, I didn’t know he had a twin! But I’m Cinnie. Cinnie Westbrook.” I give him my hand to shake, but instead he bows and pecks my hand with a kiss.
“Charmed, Cinnie.” He has appealing humor, similar to his brother’s.
I instantly start to laugh, and tell him, “What, are we at a ball or something?”
“It can be if you want it to, Princess.” He winks at me and takes my hand. He starts twirling me around and our innocent ballroom dancing stands out from all the others grinding or doing whatever they do, really.
We ignored the inevitable death stares from all the jealous girls. They all wanted to be me, and it gave me confidence knowing he had asked me to dance, and not one of them.
Dancing with Jack has turned out to be a lot of fun, and I break out a huge grin because I’m really enjoying myself. We twirl and dance for a couple more songs, until I hear someone yell my name furiously.
“Cin? Cinnie? CINNIE?!”
I immediately recognize the deep masculine voice. It’s Byron.
