CHAPTER 8:
*LATER SATURDAY MORNING
Finn’s POV
I knew it was maybe wasn’t the best time to show her how I felt, but I just couldn’t resist anymore. When I had caught her by the tree and I put my arms around her waist, I couldn’t deny how right it felt to hold her like she was mine.
She had to know.
“Wait… Cinnie. There’s something I need to tell you…”
I pulled her close to me, and she curiously looked back at me with her perfectly sculpted face. I couldn’t help but stare at her, she was picturesque in every way. Her brown, bushy eyebrows brought out her green and brown eyes, and her button-like nose was undeniably adorable.
I shifted my gaze to her pink, plump lips. I wanted to know what it felt like to kiss them, just once. I knew I shouldn’t, though. It wasn’t fair to her. I needed to express how I felt towards her with words.
However, I couldn’t help myself. I tried to hold myself back, I really did, but in the end, my emotions got the best of me.
I leaned in for a kiss, and before she had the time to respond, my lips crushed against hers. The second our lips met, electricity pulsed through my veins. At first, she didn’t kiss back, but she quickly responded to my kiss, and moved her lips against mine. She placed her hands up to cup my face, and her heated touch left my skin wanting more.
Suddenly, she moved back and stopped the kiss.
She looked up at me, “I have a feeling this isn’t what you had to tell me?”
I blushed before responding, “Not exactly…”
“Then what is it? Because I wasn’t expecting that.”
I broke eye contact, suddenly shy to tell her how I felt.
Suddenly, Cinnie did something unexpected. She took both of her hands in mine, and told me something I had been dying to hear all day.
“Whatever it is, you can tell me.”
I finally mustered up some courage and told her how I felt.
“I don’t know how to say this but… Cinnie, I have some kind of unexplainable attraction to you. Every time I see you, my body automatically tells me to find you, like you’re some kind of magnetic force. Every cell in my body craves you. Whenever we touch, some kind of electricity pulses through my body. Your smile drives me crazy, and a good kind of crazy.”
I look back at her, and she’s grinning wildly. She opens her mouth, as if she’s about to speak, but I interrupt her.
“A smile, just like that. It rubs off on me too, and I can’t help but beam like an idiot around you. You’re super sassy, too, and your humour can have me dying laughing in a matter of seconds. Not many girls speak their mind like you, and I find it unbelievably sexy. I feel like I could tell you anything, and I think it’s safe to call you one of the best friends I’ve ever had. Not to mention I really, really like you, and it’s only been three days since we met.”
