CHAPTER 6:
·SATURDAY MORNING·
Cinnie’s POV
I woke up to the loud sound of birds chirping. I slowly open my eyes, seeing the dark sky. I quickly sit up, confused. Then I remember, Finn and I came to the roof last night.
Just thinking about it made me grin widely. I really enjoyed our late night talk. He was one of the sweetest guys I had ever encountered, and was just genuinely a gentleman.
I look over, spotting him still deep in sleep. His hair is slightly disheveled, his lips forming a slight smile, and his chest rises and falls musically to his breathing. He looks so calm and happy, nothing like when I first saw him last night.
Finn had this way about him. Even though I had just met him a little over 48 hours ago, I could easily talk to him and I knew I could trust him with my life. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was about him, but I knew then that I never wanted to lose his friendship.
I looked up at the sky, deep in my thoughts. Finally, the sun was rising, and the sky started to slowly change colors.
I shook Finn, whispering, “Finn! You don’t want to miss this!”
He opened his eyes, surprised as well, looking around his surroundings.
After rubbing his eyes and yawning, he sleepily replied, “Oh hey, Cinnie. I can’t believe we fell asleep on the roof last night. Can’t we get expelled for this?”
“Shut up and look at the sky! That’s why I woke you! Not to talk about the stupid school rules.”
He gazed up at the sky, and the colors in his eyes were indescribable. I wasn't even looking at the sunset anymore, I was too focused on his beautiful eyes. One second they were a dark green, and then the next they quickly changed to a lighter shade.
He was nice to look at, I must admit. Especially like this. Seeing him sitting up, focused at the sky, and leaning back on his muscular arms was a plus. His physique was remarkable, and his perfect face and eyes just topped off his dreamy look.
We were distracted in our thoughts, when my cell phone disrupted this perfect moment.
Annoyed, I recognize the familiar name on the caller ID.
“Hey Rosie.”
“Cin, where have you been? At one point I thought Byron kidnapped you! I couldn’t find you anywhere.”
I look over at Finn, cover the bottom of the phone, and ask, “Hold on, can you give me a second?”
He nods, understanding.
I calmly speak into the phone again, “Calm down. Nothing happened with Byron. I found Finn and I showed him around school. It was late and we accidentally fell asleep.” I then look over at him and wink.
