CHAPTER 11:

Cinnie’s POV

I woke up to the bright sunlight streaming through my curtains. I was still really tired, thanks to the jetlag.

Standing up, I stretched my body and yawned.

The view was beautiful outside. From my penthouse, I saw down onto the street and could spot the teeny pedestrians and tourists.

I walked back to my nightstand, and checked my phone. Then, I saw the banner flash onto my screen.

3 messages, 2 missed calls.

I unlocked my phone, scrolled through my notifications, and then saw the thing I had been wanting to see for the last two days. There were messages from Rosie, another girl from school, and then the only boy I truly wanted to hear from.

Unknown Number: I forgive you. Call me? :-) Xoxo Finn

A huge smile broke onto my face, exited that he had forgiven me. I couldn’t stand not talking to him; I had to call him right now.

I looked at the time, and then calculated with the time change that I should wait another hour to call him. I didn’t want to be rude and wake him up.

I giddily took off my PJ’s, and walked into my bathroom to take a much needed hot shower. My head was full of good thoughts, until I remembered what my mother told me yesterday.

That I had to eat Thanksgiving Dinner with Nate. And Thanksgiving was today.

I had to eat dinner with the boy I hadn’t seen for years, today. Not to mention that I had lost my virginity to him.

My heightened mood immediately dropped, and I was annoyed as ever.

Nate and I went together to my old prep boarding school in America. We had known each other since we were six, and we were always friendly. Our parents had also always been good friends, so I often saw him at other events outside of school.

In 8th grade, he had feelings for me, but I didn’t really fancy him like that. That didn’t mean that I wouldn’t make out with him, though.

It was especially easy to meet with him when we were out of school since he lived in the city, so we had also been hooking up all throughout summer.

In the summer going into 9th grade, before I went to England, we got caught up whilst drinking and we accidentally…. Yeah. You know how it goes from there.

I hadn’t really talked to him after that, but I sometimes heard about him whilst back in the city. He was ‘the golden boy’, after all.

He was attractive, I’d give him that, but he didn’t have nearly the effect on me that Finn had.
