Taken Over

"We're getting close." Gumball's tracking device was beeping faster as they marchwd up the hill. Suddenly, it goes wild. "She's here. She might be right under us." Bubblegum understood and had the bannana guards start digging.

"Hurry up!" Cake shouted. "Calm down. We're doing the best we could." Finn got impatient. "That's not good enough!" He impales his sword on the ground and it gave way. He falls down into a deep catacombs. "Woah, what is this place?" Walking down the tunnels, a putrid smell started to fill the air. Finn's lungs get burnt by the scent of death. "Glob, it smells like dead cheese in here."

"Finn?" A voice called from the tunnels. "Fionna? Fionna!" He ran through the waves of sewage water. Searching frantically until Fionna's voice started to sound close. "Finn." He found her in chains. "Fionna! Don't worry, you're safe now." Finn was crying, glad to see her, but shocked at her weakened state. "Let's get you out of here.

PB and PG were right behind them. They took Fionna into the Candy Kingdoms emergency room. Cake stayed by Fionna while she recovered. Finn and Jake were advised to go home and wait for updates on Fionna's condition. "This is my fault. I should have gone after her." Finn was sulking on his chair. "Oh, come one, bro. You couldn't have known this was gonna happen. Besides, if it wasn't for you, we would have never known that she was in danger." It didn't help Finn to get over it. "I could have done more. I know I could." He sank lower on his seat. "It's ok, man. Look, how about we visit her after lunch? She might be better by now."

Just as Jake said, they travelled to the Candy kingdom right after lunch and checked on the clown nurse taking care of Fionna. "Hey there, you must be here to see your friend." Finn nodded at her. "Just sit here for a while. She'll be awake soon enough." After a few minutes, Fionna started to open her eyes. Finn leaned in closer. When her vision came back, a blushing face with a giant grin on it was the first thing she sees. "Hi, welcome back!" Finn expected a smile rig back, but what he got was an obscured and frightened look. "What's wrong?" Finn said. Fionna suddenly jumped out of her bed. "Finn, get out of here! Stay awa-" She suddenly started to shake uncontrollably. Finn called for help as he tried to pin her down. She calmed down a bit. Then, as Finn was about to return her to her bed, he was siezed by a dark feeling, like something was taking over his body. "We meet again, hero."
