Prologue
I ran through the woods near glancing back every few seconds. I had told them I didn't want to be apart of their ranks. I knew the only way to get out was to leave my family and old friends. I had to get away from that group... I thought. At the edge of the woods I collapsed next to a tree and breathed heavily. That was when a boy, about the same age as me, with black hair and a gold and black cap came over to me, instantly bombarding me with questions.
"Hey, are you okay? I haven't seen you before. Are you new around here-" he asked before being cut off by a man walking over.
"Now, Ethan this girl probably needs some rest. Let's get her inside and then you can ask some questions," he said before offering me a hand. "Well, do you want to come inside? We wouldn't mind company." I took the man's hand without thinking about it. I couldn't tell you why I did, but I just felt like I could trust him.
After a rest and a small meal I sat with the man at the table near the TV. He had told me his name was Professor Elm, the Professor of the Johto region.
"So, tell me about yourself. How did you end up here and what is your name?" he asked. I had thought hard about what to say if asked and looked up to meet his gaze before answering firmly.
"My name is Amelia Grain," I replied.
