SHAWN
"Long time no punch Mendes." Nicholas howled. His entourage - which consisted of Brandon Clark and a few unimportant people - laughed as he cracked his knuckles and slammed his fist into his other hand.
I bent down and gathered my belongings that fell out of my backpack, Madison helped me. She gave me a small smile out of sympathy, it made me feel worse about my situation.
"Aww, little Shawny boy here got himself a girlfriend."
Before I knew it, Nicholas shoved me into the locker, the result of my right shoulder and temple slamming against the metal. I thought that Nicholas would wait until I stood up to hit me, not while I was still on the floor. The group laughed as Madison checked to see if I was okay. She rushed to my side and picked up my hand. Her eyes stared into mine. I could feel my eyes starting to water, damn that hurt. Madison looked up at Nicholas and her eyes widened, as did Nicholas'. What is going on? Instead of Nicholas saying anything else to me, he just stood there in shock.
"We have to go now, Shawn." Madison told me.
I noticed that she had already shoved everything into my bag and picked it up for me. She handed my bag to me and I placed it onto my shoulders. Madison grabbed my hand and started to run down the hallway, away from the dementors and death eaters. (Harry Potter humor.) My insides started to feel fluttery.
MY STOMACH FELT LIKE IT WAS ON WINGS.
"Madison wait!" I said, she was still pulling me to, I'm guessing her first period class. The bell rang causing her to stop.
"What Shawn?" She asked, still holding my hand.
"My class is the other way."
"I'm so sorry," she paused and gently took her small hand out of mine and blushed, "meet me after school at Tim Hortons at exactly 3:30 pm."
"Okay, we are both going to be late if we don't get moving now." I scratched the back of my head and bit my lip. I really have to stop doing that.
"Oh, okay. Well, bye Shawn!" Madison said, slowly walking farther down the hallway.

I sat nervously at a table in Tim Hortons, awaiting Madison while tapping my fingers to the beat of the faint song. I bought her a chocolate muffin with hot chocolate. I snuck a glance every few seconds to my watch.
3:28
3:28
3:28
Still 3:28
3:29
The small bell above the door rang, signaling that someone was here. It was Madison.
"Hi Madison." I smiled. She sat down and didn't say a word back. She sighed, put her elbows on the table and lightly gripped on her hair. She look frustrated, yet serious and in deep thought. She actually looked kinda cute.
"Hey Madison? What happened back in the hallway this morning? You seemed a bit off when Nicholas showed up-"
"I know Nicholas, and I guess I just haven't seen him in a while along with his family. The last time I saw him, things didn't end on a good note." She sighed.
"You can always talk to me about-"
"I can't talk to you about this Shawn."
We were the only people in the room, considering that no one comes here anymore. Sadly, I have to work my shift after she leaves. We were both dead silent. We snuck a couple glances at each other, but that was it. Why didn't she want to tell me? I know we just met and all, but I'm sure that there is a bonding trust forming between us.
"I-I bought you a muffin and hot chocolate." I told her, sliding the bag and cup across the table.
"Thanks Shawn," she said, peeking into the bag, "I gotta go now. I'll see you at school tomorrow." She stood up and walked out.
She left without saying another word.
