SHAWN

The weekend finally approached me with a slightly peaceful week. Nothing more comfortable than watching hockey while laying down on the couch.

"Oh c'mon Maple Leafs! You guys are terrible!" I screamed standing up, then I laid back down.

If you were wondering where my parents are, they went out to run some errands.

This week wasn't exactly terrible... My father hasn't hit me since Sunday, the day I met Madison. Speaking of Madison, she has been avoiding me all week.

The home telephone started to ring, but I didn't bother to answer it. It's not like anyone would want to speak to me.

"Auntie Karen, Aaliyah wanted to know if you and Uncle Manny wanted to come over for dinner tonight. Avo and I will be waiting for your call. Bye!" Timera's voice traveled into my brain and replayed over and over again. Not once did she mention my name.

"Karen can you grab the eggs?" His voice echoed.

I turned off the television and laid down on the couch, pretending to be asleep.

"Ugh, can't he learn how to sleep in his own bed?" I peeked my eyes open a bit, revealing my father looking down at me in disgust. Thankfully he didn't see me. I sat up on the couch and saw him holding two packages of beer bottles. He grabbed one out of the cardboard box and used his hand to twist off the cap. He chugged that thing down in fifteen seconds, trust me, I was counting. It's way too early to be drinking pops.

I ran up the stairs and into my bedroom quickly, closing the door ever so lightly that you can only hear the faint click.

( 'twenty minutes later' *spongebob voice* )

It has been a good twenty minutes since they've been home, they haven't 'woken' me up yet or knocked on my door.

"GOD DAMMIT!" I heard my father's voice yell.

I raced down stairs, my heart was beating so fast, if he even tries to touch my mother, that man is going to pay. I finally reached the kitchen and saw my mother trapped in the corner. My father was moving towards her with an empty beer bottle over his head.

"Don't touch her!" I screamed. My voice lightly cracked when I said 'her', but that is not important right now...
