Chapter Ten
******************
The past few days were doing OK. I guess. I'm lying.
Being pulled away from. Eliot was the worst feeling in the world. My insides were being plucked out one-by-one. I didn't want to be pulled away from him but that voice that came into my head that day, I couldn't forget that melodic tune. It was a really beautiful voice and it sure didn't belong to Riley, my wolf.
I ordered some chicken chow-mein. From the kitchen of course. These days were the best days of my life. I got to sleep on a comfortable bed, by myself. I wasn't forced to wake up or go to bed. I ate what ever I wanted, when I wanted. I had never got the chance to feel like that. I knew people here. And they loved me for who I was. They didn't know my background and hopefully would never find out. Sophia brought my chicken chow-mein. It was lovely and juicy. My wolf craved for more. I needed to shift for hunting. But I was hurting for Inder. I felt my eyes change to yellow. When I was angry was the only time my eyes would be black. When I needed to shift my eyes would be a startling yellow. I carefully put my dish in the sink and ran out through the door. Before I left I whined one last time for Inder. We were avoiding each other.
I left to the clearing in the woods. I hadn't shifted in a few days since my escape so this time it would probably hurt. I stretched my arms up, then bent down on all fours. Go on then Riley, we can shift, you can take control to Riley. Thank you Peri, We're going to shift now. She replied taking control. My bones snapped and my ears moved up the side of my head and shaped into my white ears. I looked almost like a Neko, a cat like thing that exists but they usually are drawn in anime, My back bone snapped, making me scream in pain. I think Eliot felt it as something jerked inside me. My legs grew shorter and turned into my wolves legs. The part that really hurt most was the fur growing. It hurt that when I screamed no sound came out. I had shifted fully into my beautiful, glossy, snowy, white wolf.
I stretched myself and began to simply trot. The trotting felt awesome and my wolf howled in glee. I speeded the pace up going more. I felt the air behind me, move as if something was following me. I heard a stick crack. Just my imagination right? I quickened up automatically. I heard the air move again. I breathed in. Legit. I ran for it. The wolf behind me was chasing me. It was a mahogany coloured wolf and it looked purple in the sun. What? No it couldn't be...
I still ran. I was faster than the other wolf, but it was using my techniques perfectly. I knew I had more special things I didn't know about, but the way it was chasing me... I ran in my technique front legs tuck into my back legs, like a frog. It copied. Only one person could do that in the whole world. And I loved that person with my heart. I stopped panting, with my tongue out. The other wolf stopped grinning.
I've missed you so much
I've missed you too.
