Chapter Twenty Eight

Two weeks later

I watch, my mate,Cyrus, Clio and Duke shift. They are all equally beautiful. I hold Carter in my arms whose sucking away at his thumb. His casts feel uncomfortable on top of my body so I place him down on the nearest couch.

The whole pack house is being refurnished. And broken down. Then built again across the land. As I told you before about about twenty five different packs including at least six hundred members are coming to join ours. We will be getting more and more and we've sided with the Vampires. The vampires have invested in us if we give them five slurpies, to drink from. They said drink from, not turn.

Carter has only black cast. I don't know why he chose that colour. He watches the TV looking intently at some cartoon, named Phineas&Ferb. I can see a platypus named Perry.

Carter scratched at the cast. "Don't do that babe, it's going to make you better." I tell him. He keeps on scratching. He then yelps in pain. I pick his hand up quickly. There's nothing there. I put his hand back down. "Mommy. Did Duck and Cy go for a run?" He asks me. I nod. "Yes, they have baby." I reply. "Mommy, can I drive the car?" He then asks. "When you're sixteen sweetheart, you can drive the car then." I tell him. "Tomorrow?" He answers. "Yes." I say giving up.

I couldn't wait to finally be a Luna. To finally be twenty years of age. When all my powers are unlocked. I put Carter on my lap, bouncing him up and down. His leg cast hits my knee but it doesn't cause to much pain. In a while the arm one will be replaced with a smaller one, then to a shoulder brace, to an arm as good as new.

Carter was so skinny. A skinny child. I heard some of his school friends heckle at him with Duke. Duke and Carter were usually inseparable except when Carter went to play with this girl named Moxie. Yes Moxie as in Moxie dolls. And sometimes her twin sister, Dollie.

"Mommy, why am I not a doggy?" Carter says. I don't know how to answer that. "Because...ahh...uhm..." I struggled.

He's special. My wolf told me.

"Because you're special, darling. Don't let nobody tell you that your not." I give him butterfly kisses and squeals for me to stop. He's so cute.

Inder opens up the door, letting Clio, Duke and Cyrus run in to greet me. They are extremely powerful. Just think of it, thirteen years later, they'll be in shape to be Alpha's and Luna's. Cyrus would be a Beta or Alpha(second in command) and Duke would definitely be an Alpha. If they didn't want to take the place, Clio could be a Luna. Carter could be an Alpha...maybe.

I kiss Inder on the cheek and he picks up Carter. Carter smiles at his father. They look so much a like though I'm sure Inder wasn't as skinny. I smile at my babies. My big baby boy, Inder and my little fighter, Carter. A pack warrior I tell you, that's what Carter will be.

Two months later

He peels the cast of Carter's arm. It's whiter than ever before. He apply the new cast on. Carter's eyes have glazed over. I've never noticed the bags under his eyes. The doctor puts the wet mod-rock on the special cotton laced with the medicine. "What colour son?" He asks Carter. "Black." He replies immediately. I see now.

Carter's puts his arm in the sling, like the doctor told him. He walks by my side, running whilst I walk. He's so small it scares me to even let him have dinner by himself without me feeding him. When he was a baby, he mostly slept or stayed awake. He wasn't as hungry as the others.

I held on to his hand as we crossed the road. We got into the car. I buckled his seat belt on, on the back row of three seats. "Bob, to the pack house." I command. The car jumps into life as it roars down the road, into the horizon like a love story.
