I was tired of crying but I truly couldn't stop myself. I was broken, weak, and defenseless. I wanted my baby and I knew I couldn't have her. I've spoken to the doctor about Sierra being pregnant, he told me it was true but sadly the baby didn't survive the car accident. It's been three months now and I; Rayan Lopez, have came a long way. For the first month, I cried everyday, and also prayed everyday. I took time off of work and stay in the house depressed; I needed time to pull myself together. In the second month I stopped crying everyday and continued to pray for my baby, I went back too work and even started hanging with my friends; I also decided to visit my baby every weekend. I always had a feeling that she was gonna come outta the coma soon but as everyday pasted I started to assume that she wasn't gonna make it. But I always tried to stay focused on the positive things. It's been three months since the accident and I've gotten my life together, there's not one day I go without thinking about Sierra and how much I love her. I visit Sierra everyday at 9:00pm and stay there until 11:00pm just talking to her and reading her favorite books to her. I tell her how much I love her and adore her, sometimes I would sit there in silence just watching over her like a guardian angel. Today was Saturday and I had the day off at work and I decided to visit Sierra today at twelve in the afternoon.

"Hello Rayan." The nurse said to me as I entered the hospital with a bouquet of lavenders, everyday I would come into the hospital holding a different type of flower for Sierra.

"Hello Nancy, you're looking as lovely as ever." I complimented her which made her smile.

"I'm sure you're here too see Sierra, well Dr. James is waiting for you over by Sierra's room. He has some news for you."

"News? For me?"

"Yes. Now go."

I smiled and headed towards the back where Sierra's room was, on my way there I pasted lots of people that I saw here on a regular basis and greet them with smiles. I continued to walk down the hall until I turned the corner and saw Dr. James standing in front of Sierra's door and looking down at his clipboard, when he noticed me standing at the end of the hall he quickly approached me with a warm smile.

"Rayan it's so nice to see you."

I smiled. "Hello Dr. James I heard that you have news for me" I said as I followed him towards Sierra's door.

"Yes. After three long months Sierra has finally came out of her coma and she is very healthy, all broken bones and open wounds are now fully healed. She has made an amazing recovery." He spoke with a smile.

A wide smiled appeared across my face as I continued to listen.

"But as we suspected three months ago, Sierra has long term memory loss, she lost her memory and the chances of her retrieving it is very dim. Also we discovered that her vocal chords were damaged during the accident and she can hardly speak, I assume that she can only scream, laugh, gasp, cry, and make other sounds but can't say regular words."

"But she is alive right?"

"See for yourself." He said with a smile as he motioned me towards the window.

I walked up to the window and looked inside to see Sierra sitting up staring at the television watching some cartoons, seeing her alive and moving made my heart flutter. Tears rushed to my eyes and streamed down my cheeks as my heart filled with joy and happiness, Sierra turned her face towards the window and smiled at me making my heart beat faster as I smiled back at her. She saw the flowers in my hand and her smile grew even wider which made me chuckle a bit as I wiped away my tears of joy. I just wanted to hold her in my arms tight and never let her go, but sadly I knew she wouldn't remember me and just thinking of that brought my heart too pieces.

"But of course we have too keep her here for another week." The doctor said as he broke me out of my trace.

"What do you mean another week?" I said while catching a slight attitude as I looked at the doctor liked he lost his mind.

"We need to keep her for another week to teach her the basics of life. She lost her memory and won't know how to do anything nor will she understand anything. We will keep her here and teach the few basics of life."

"When do I get to take her home?"

"Next Saturday." The doctor said sternly.

I smiled because that's exactly what happened, the days pasted and Saturday finally came faster than I thought it would. I didn't get to visit Sierra at all this week because the doctors were to busy teaching her new things but it didn't faze me because I finally get to take her home with me plus I had to get the house ready for her arrival. I was so excited but I was also scared. Why? I really don't know but I was. I arrived at the hospital and when I walked inside I saw Dr. James standing there with Sierra by his side, when he saw me walk in he smile and greeted me with a handshake.

"Hello Rayan I'm sure you're anxious to get home and spend time with Sierra so I will make this quick. During the last week in the hospital us doctors taught Sierra how to behave properly as well as using utensils the right way. She knows how to eat and bathe by herself and when she wants something she uses her facial expressions and sometimes her hands. I personally taught her the names of her loved ones especially yours, she actually really loves hearing your name it might be a sign of remembrance but than again I'm unsure. We also taught her words that she will hear on a regular basis and how she should respond to them; she also understands the things she shouldn't do." He said with a smile.

I looked over at Sierra who was staring outside and up at the blue sky, I just knew she couldn't wait to go outside and breathe the nice fresh air. "Is that all?" I asked.

"Yes but if you have any questions, problems or concerns feel free to contact me, I'm sure you have my number."

"Will do."

"Alright Rayan here's a small bottle of pain relievers for her throat, just in case it starts to hurt or becomes sore. Now you're free too go." He said with a smile as he handed me a small bottle of pills.

"Thanks so much doctor. See you soon." I said as I turned towards Sierra and smiled. "Are you-" I started to say but got cut off by Sierra running outside the hospital.

I was cut off guard but I quickly followed behind her, when I exited the hospital I saw her standing on the sidewalk looking up at the sky. She was happy. I was happy. I always knew Sierra had a thing for nature even before the car accident she always loved being outside and exploring new things; she especially loved taking pictures of the outdoors. I walked up to her slowly trying my best not to scare her and she turned towards me when she felt my presence, I smiled slightly as I handed her the rose that I was holding in my hands ever since I stepped foot in the hospital. A smiled appeared across her face as she took it and held it close to her heart.

I missed that beautiful smile. I finally got my baby back.
