Suho's POV
"Amnesia?! How come? I mean. I'm so sorry Lay." I replied. I can't find the right words to say. What happen? So is this the ulitmate reasoh why she's treating me like a stranger last night?
Then I remember our short conversation last night with her.
"I'm happy especially its been a long time since I went here in Korea. Am I right?"
"Aah yes. I think that was several years ago."
She was not sure because she can't remember that she has to verify it to Lay. I am completly shocked. Why did she has an amnesia?
"When we became officially together, I went to Manila to meet her family. They were hospitable and kind. Then one time I had a conversation with her mother. She told me how thankful she was because Michi was happy again. Her mom told me that I was the remedy they had been looking for. I was puzzled when she told me that. I asked her why." Lay said as he sighed.
I was leaning closely to him. I wanted to clearly hear what will he say. Now I am completely worried for her.
"After she came back seven years ago from Korea, she was always lonely. Her mother said she suffered from depression. She would always lock in her room and cry. They don't know why she was like that. There are nights that they would be awake because she was screaming in her room. Her mom would always found her crying. She said she needs to go back and say sorry to someone and tell him that she still loves him. From that time, her mom knew it was all because of a guy. Then her mom told her that she should finish her studies first, then she would allow her to go back to Korea and talked to him. After that she became somehow okay. She granted her mother's wish to finish her studies." Lay paused then took a sipped from his coffee.
I wanted to cry but I need to control my emotions right now. I can't believe what just happened to her after our break up. I also took a sipped from my drink. Lay was staring at me, waiting if I am still interested to listen.
"Go on." I uttered.
"It was summer. One month after her graduation, Michi decided to go back here in Korea. She told her parents not to accompany her anymore so she instead took a taxi alone in going to the airport. And on her way, an accident happened, an overspeeding delivery truck crashed to the taxi where she was. The collision was so intense that the truck driver and even the taxi driver was dead on the spot while Michi.." He paused and he sighed as I could see tears are forming at the corner of his eyes. I think I couldn't take what he will say next but I have to know. I need to. This is about Michi. This is about the girl I love.
I leaned close and tapped his shoulders. It must be hard also for him when he found this out and now he's telling me.
He cleared his throat as he continued. "Michi's life was at stake, she was rushed to the hospital, 50/50. The doctor said she needed a quick surgery, she was suffering from a tremendous bleeding in her head, a hemorrhage already in her brain. Her parents were there praying hard for her. And thankfully after 7 hours of waiting outside the operating room, the doctor said that it was successful. They thought that was the end of her suffering but it was just the beginning. She was comatose. Her parents were getting hopeless but after 2 and a half months, she woke up. As she woke up, she couldn't recognize everybody, not even her parents and not even herself. The doctor said they already knew the possibility of her having an amnesia as her brain was deeply damaged because of the accident. Michi parents told me how heartbreaking it is for them and especially for her. It was like everything had come to a reset."
