You stared over the surroundings of the frontier from a cliff edge with teary eyes letting everything sink in. Your one family-like figure had died. Achilles was dead. You didn't know what to do, you didn't want to speak to anyone, not even Connor. You helped Connor with burying Achilles but after that you left for the frontier, the place you were happiest. You felt bad just leaving the homestead without even checking on Connor, but you felt like you had done that enough in the past and always kept a smile on your face, and it was your turn to take the smile off.
Achilles was there from the start. From a young age, he was the only person to take care of you. Your parents were both in the brotherhood so knew Achilles very well. After they died in a battle against templars, Achilles treated you as his own and raised you as best he could. He started training you to fight from the age of 8, and he knew you had potential to be a great assassin, so he kept training you. You were highly trained and already a part of the brotherhood when Connor arrived. At first you didn't know what to think of Connor, but it didn't take long for you to start liking him. Connor was the one person that you loved and that actually managed to make you happy, and vice versa. After your parents' death, you became very quiet, never went out, and rarely smiled but never cried, you were just very blank, but Connor brought you back out of your shell and brought a smile back to your face. Connor was always your strength and you were his, but this time, you needed time alone.
You pulled your dagger out from the sheath on your side. You looked down towards the dagger, and teared up more. Achilles gave you that dagger on your birthday last year. It was custom made to have your initials at the base of the blade along side the assassin crest, the hilt was beautifully engraved with vines and your favourite flower. You felt someone sit next to you, breaking your gaze away from the incredible weapon to see who it was, although you already knew. Connor. You put the dagger back in it's sheath and let your gaze wonder back over the surroundings. "Connor, i'm sorry I shouldn't have just left you like tha-" "shh, it's okay (Y/N), I don't blame you, I would have done the same" Connor softly said cutting you off. You felt his arm snake around your waist in comfort and you rested your head on his shoulder. Neither of you spoke, but it was a nice, calming silence, with the quiet sound of rustling trees, and the sweet songs of birds high in the trees. After some time, you noticed it was getting later, and the sun was almost set. You stood up and pulled Connor's hand for him to stand up and follow you. You lead him to to top of a hill, the hill where you and Connor spent a lot of your time together, usually star gazing on clear nights. You lay down at the top of the hill, and Connor lay next to you. The stars were out, and it was beautiful. "(Y/N), there's been something i've been meaning to say for a long time". You turned your head to look at Connor, who was already looking at you. You gave him a questioning look, prompting him to continue. "I-uh, I- I love you (Y/N)". A smile crept onto your face hearing those words. You shifted towards him and kissed him sweetly. You broke away and rested your head on his chest, his arm wrapping around you protectively. "I love you too Connor". Once again, Connor had managed to calm you down, and make you happy. You spent the next few hours lay in each others company, talking and star gazing happily, as a couple.
A/N: Idk if I like this one but I wanted to write a Connor oneshot because he's adorable and I love him too much rn. Tbf tho I love all of the Assassin's too much (+ Shay (actually, especially Shay oops))
