Unfairness

"OK and for this assignment you will need to work in partners," My science teacher frowned at some dumb ass boys mucking around at the back. Whilst she was threatening them for the fifth time this lesson I looked over at Sam, sitting two rows ahead of me, and mouthed 'Partners?' But the answer I received was not what I expected. Sam shook their head apologetically and pointed to the dark-haired girl sitting nearby. That's weird, we've always been partners in any class we have together, I thought, oh well. Shrugging it off I scanned the room for possible replacements. My stomach fluttered when I spotted Marchel positioned in the very next row. "Hey," I could here the embarrassing quiver in my voice as I tapped my crushes shoulder, "Have you got a partner yet?" What was I thinking of course he'd have a partner. I could see at least five other people in his friend group here. My bravery was quickly subsiding and regret was taking over. Would he think I was desperate? "No I don't yet. I'd partner up with you but course you'll be with Sam right?" Was I hearing this correctly?
"Er, actually they're with Danielle," I gestured towards  them. They were laughing together at some drawing that was being passed around. I couldn't help feeling resentful. "Oh okay... Sooo.... You wanna do the assignment together?" Oh my god this is happening. This. Is. Happening. I had the sudden urge to text Sam. "Um yeah sure if you want," I stammered. I was in pure shock. I hardly heard the ringing of the bell somewhere in the distance. I floated out in a daze. Everything around me seemed fuzzy. I was sure I had bumped into at least 6 people. But I didn't care.
"Luce wait up!" I turned around quickly, realising I had forgotten Sam. But as my feet spun my bag rammed into a teacher. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" I squeaked and whipped around once more... Hitting her again! Mrs Gollodium stood up, red faced and clearly sick of children. She was so furious she could hardly speak. "Go... Office... Now," She trembled in pure rage. Somebody was not having a good day.

I sat sheepishly in an uncomfortable plastic chair as Mrs G explained everything to the principal. Somehow she had managed to manipulate her words so it sounded like I had purposely assaulted her with my bag. I hardly heard the lecture I received. I managed to catch the words 'irresponsible', 'disappointed' and 'sent home'. "Sent home?! But I didn't do anything it was an accident!" The unfairness of it all was almost unbelievable. I snatched up my bag in silent fury and stomped out of the office. I dropped onto the floor and waited for my mum to pull up. A notification rang out from the front zip of my bag but I ignored it. I wasn't in the mood to explain the outrageous happenings Sam. Besides I didn't trust myself not to smash my phone if I got my hands on it.

Mum gave me a lecture similar to the one I received from the principal. I didn't even bother trying to defend myself. I trudged into my still messy room. What now? I was grounded for a month. Thoughts of having Marchel at my house every weekend to work on the assignment (and ultimately fall in love with me) sank out of sight. I was miserable. My phone sounded again and I rolled my eyes. I picked it up, ready to tell Sam I'd talk later. But the message wasn't from Sam....

Ooo cliffhanger!! I bet you can't guess who the message is from. (it's not who you'd think) I'm sick so I'm on a writing spree today.
