Lost Times

Once my work is done,
I think of things I could've won.
But once I have sat and thought,
It occurs to me that I have lost.

Once I get to the end of a race,
I start to slow down and check my pace.
But once I get to the end,
I lose the game and lose all my friends.

But now I'm in the past
And like always, I'm in last.
I will sit and think,
But then I realize that I have a spring.

I use that spring to give me flight,
To help me fly through the night.
But once I get to the end,
I lose the spring and lose all my friends.

But after all my friends leave,
I will be stronger than thee.
Even If they leave my side,
I will never say goodbye.

Once spring comes and goes,
Summer will be next to go.
After that comes school,
Which will show others that I can be cool.
