"No" I muttered. I looked around at the unfamiliar hallway. "I have to find him" I muttered and the scene changed, I looked around the park I was now in, I went to it often when I was four or five. I saw my father laughing as he walked away from something. He looked so happy and free as a small child chased after him laughing just as much. I tried to move, to run to him. It seemed so real, he was right there. So close, but so far away.  "No, no, no" My voice grew louder with each word as the scene was ripped away and everything turned into darkness. "Come back" He was drifting away, I fought and commanded my feet to move but they wouldn't listen. "Come back" I screamed as he floated farther away. My brain was trying to tell me something but my heart told me that I had to save him, something was wrong. "Come back" I sobbed as he drifted out of sight. "Come back"

~~~
I awoke to someone shaking me. "Its okay" They muttered "Its just a dream, Its just a dream"
"Come back" I whispered into my pillow. Before realizing it wasn't my pillow and this wasn't my bed. I shot up so fast I knocked they person that woke me up backwards and onto the floor. "Whats going on?" I asked the room was dark and I could't see anything for several moments. "Lila?" I asked before I remembered leaving LA. My eyes had now adjusted to the darkness and I saw Nathan on the floor. "Sorry" I whispered, my throat was dry and my voice sounded strange from screaming and crying.
"Its okay." He said quietly before standing up and walking back towards me slowly as if I would freak out again. "Are you okay?" He asked you and actually sounded concerned, he tucked a piece of his bangs behind his ear looking nervous as well. "Yeah" I lied. "Im fine". He looked doubtful "Are you sure?" He asked
"Why aren't you in your room? Asleep?" I asked, I hated lying so I changed the subject instead. "Its morning, Dad told me to wake you and Max while Jordan woke up everyone else. When I knocked you didn't answer but I heard you scream, so I thought something was wrong."
"Oh" I looked at the floor avoiding his gazing, I could tell he didn't like that I had change the subject and hated to press but I was glad he didn't. "We have to leave by 6:45, School starts at seven." Nathan said and walked towards the door.
"Thanks Nathan" I whispered just loud enough for him to hear. He turned around "No Problem and its Nate" He grinned at me before he turned around he left shutting the door as he did so.
For several moments, I stared at the blanket I had thrown or kicked aside at some point durning the night. I felt like I hadn't slept at all. What a terrific way to start the day. I placed my feet on the floor and forced myself out of the bed and got ready for the first day of my temporary life.
~~~

I walked over to table be the bed, my backpack was leaning against the legs of the table and my phone was on the table pulled in. I didn't remember pulling it in but I must of at some point. I saw a brief glance of my outfit in the mirror as I walked towards after grabbed my phone and bag.

I was wearing my hair down and it had taken a slight wavy affect after my shower, black skinny jeans that had one small rip just below the right knee, a teal top that had black lace lining the collar, and black converse because who needs to bother with dressing up to go it a school I didn't really care about and I was sure I wouldn't like.

I threw my bag over one shoulder and headed down stairs to the kitchen. Where all of the noise seemed to be coming from.

When I entered the kitchen, it seemed just as crazy as it had been the night before. People were yelling over one another, pushing and shoving over food. Except this time instead of pizza it was pancakes and bacon. What a strange combination. I walked farther into the kitchen but state dear the wall as I watched the chaos in front of me.

Mr. Jones was at the stove making move pancakes even though there was attack on the table, but it growing smaller by the second. As Jake and Jace both grabbed one followed by Nate. Will and Ben had just walked into the kitchen both looking slightly dazed, but none the less made their way to their chairs and filled up their own plates. Jordan was telling all of them to slow down it wasn't a race as they all were eating really fast.

Max had just walked into the kitchen and no longer looking like a tomboy as she was in a yellow flower print dress. She walked into the kitchen looking upset but not the sad kind. She bumped into me as she walked past me and sat down in her chair.

'Whatever, It doesn't matter if they all hate me.' I told myself, but the other side told me if they all hated me then I'd end out in the system and who knows where I would end up.

"Are you gonna stand there all day?" I heard a someone say to me, I looked up and saw Jordan smiling at me. I pushed away my thoughts "Maybe its comfy " I said putting on a smile and looking back at him.

He laughed "Well if its comfy then I guess you won't mind me handing your pancakes and the wild animals" He gestured to the table and several heys were loudly announced.

I laughed slightly "well if pancakes are involved" I said as if he had convinced me to move I walked to the table and noticed Mrs. Jones was missing from the group surrounding the kitchen.

"Wheres your mom?" I asked, and the oldest four Jones children went silence and dropped what they had in their hands onto plates. Mr. Jones was obvious to the sudden change in his children. Jace, Jake, Max, and Nate all turned to look at Jordan. Who looked briefly at Nate, before looking towards me "She um, had some errands to run this morning."

Nate looked doubtful but the other three looked as if they could breath again. I shrugged "Okay, cool" Even though I thought it was strange that someone had errands to run at, I pulled out my phone 6:35

Everyone was silence from that point on, well except for Ben, Will, and Mr. Jones who were obvious to the fact. I glanced at my phone just as Jordan noticed it was time for us to go to school because we couldn't be late.

Will and Ben stayed at the table as rest of the Jones children headed outside with backpacks that they had all laid next to the door on a bench.

Jordan pulled me aside as the others headed towards Jace's truck. "Mom said to tell you that she pulled in your phone last night since it had the same changer as her." Oh, that made since I didn't remember doing it. "And that she pulled together the rest of the supplies you need for school. You had most of them, but a few you didn't."

"Thanks Jordan" I said quietly. "And tell her I said thanks as well if you see her before?" He nodded "yeah of course, go now you're gonna be late" I looked down at my phone and realized he was right. It was 6:43.

I looked briefly towards the truck hoping they wouldn't leave me to find my own way to school. Jace got into the drivers seat of his truck, Max also got in the front but in the passenger seat as Jacob and Nate got into the back.

I walked towards the truck and climbed into the last remaining seat. At least it wasn't the middle. "Hope you have a good day Selene." Jordan yelled as I got into the truck. "One of you remember to show Selene around school"

I gave him a thumbs up and waved as we pulled out of the driveway and headed towards what could become the second worst day of my life.
