On our way to the surprise Brody had convinced me to close my eyes. It's been a long drive and I didn't know if my dad would like this very much.

"We're here," Brody announced. Finally, I was able to get out of the car, stretch my legs and open my eyes.

When I opened my eyes we were in front of a beach with a beautiful house that's door opened right out onto the sand.

"Brody... It-It's beautiful, but we can't stay here," I said. I didn't want to disappoint Brody but it was true, we couldn't stay here. I don't think Brody knows what my dad will do to me or that I don't have anything packed or about... JAYCE! No... I totally forgot. I had to call him and I didn't want to make Brody think that I was going to spend the week here talking to my boyfriend so I pretended that he called me.

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"ARIA WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU?!"

"N-nowhere," I was scared. The truth is since it's summer vacation I want to spend the week here. But I was scared of Jayce. He's a big football player and I know he'd never hurt me but still...

"I ASKED YOU A QUESTION ARIA! TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE!" Boy was he mad. I wasn't going to tell him I was with Brody but of course he figured that out because he heard Brody on the phone with his mom behind me.

"ARIA! ARE YOU WITH THAT BRODY KID? ANSWER ME ARIA!" I hung up. I didn't feel safe talking to him. Brody had already gotten off the phone with his mom.

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Yeah. But I don't think I should stay he-" He cut me off.

"You're safer here than you will be at home," Good point. Then my phone went off. Please be dad, please be dad.
Thank God it was my dad.

"Where are you Aria?" Not even a hello.

"Don't worry dad, I'm with Brody. I'm spending the week with him up at a beach house in New Hampshire. I can come home if you wa-"

"No. It's fine. Have fun. No Jayce, ok?"

"Wasn't planning on it. I think I'm going to break up with him," I knew he'd be happy.

"Well then at least get with Brody after."

"Maybe. Bye dad."

"Bye Aria."

Brody had taken a big suitcase and a blue duffle bag out of the truck and was putting them inside. My phone buzzed and this time I knew it was Jayce. Because my dad doesn't text and neither does my sister because she's too young so I was left with Jayce and Brody and it obviously wasn't Brody.

Jayce: Aria tell me where you are right now!

Me: I'm just out with a friend for the week.

Jayce: What friend?

Me: It's no one Jayce!

Jayce: Is no one their name?

Me: No.

Jayce: Then tell me their name!

Me: No.

Jayce: ARIA TELL ME THEIR NAME!

Me: Fine Jayce it's Brody.

Me: Jayce?

Jayce: BRODY?!

Jayce: I'm going to kill that kid!!!

Me: NO JAYCE WE'RE ONLY HERE AS FRIENDS! SEPARATE ROOMS AND ALL.

Jayce: THAT STILL DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN BE WITH HIM!

Me: Well you don't get to decide who I can and can't hang out with!

Jayce: COME HOME! OR I'M COMING TO YOU!

Me: You don't know where I am. Good bye Jayce.

Jayce: Yes I do, I was throwing pebbles at your window when your stupid dad couldn't figure out how to take you off speaker!

Me: 1) Don't EVER call my dad stupid again!!! 2) If you come up here I'm calling the cops!

Jayce: Go ahead! They won't be able to do much when I finish with Brody!

Me: You better not hurt Brody!

Me: You know what Jayce?

Jayce: What?

Me: We're done!

Jayce: That doesn't stop me from coming up there.

Me: I'll have Brody call the police. Good bye Jayce.

"BRODY! CALL THE POLICE!" I yelled. Just then I heard a car door slam out front.
