Chapter Twenty Two;
The wind blowing harshly at my skin as I paddled my bike home, my Mum thought I was responsible but my Dad was very dominated over my Mum and I. Sighing I then arrive outside my house, even though it was small but it was still very cosy and homely. Looking at my watch on my wrist, I notice it's four o'clock. My Dad isn't home yet. He doesn't finish work till five o'clock, so I don't have to worry.
Pulling the break on the handles I then place my bike against the wall before I run a hand through my long ginger hair. Opening the door I then walk inside, it seems silent. Too silent. Continuing to walk inside I then carry my bag upstairs and towards my room, opening my parent's room I notice my Mum isn't there. Walking towards her studio I notice the lamp on and I sigh, she is writing her novel.
Sighing in relief I then continue to walk towards my bedroom, closing my bedroom behind me I set my bag down beside my desk before I then get changed into more comfier clothes containing sweatpants and a sweatshirt, tying my hair into a messy bun I throw my clothes into my hamper before I sit down on my desk and I load my laptop up.
After messaging my friends I move onto homework, taking out some of my English literature stuff and biology, I start to work on it for a few hours when I get peace to do it.
Just as I finish my last sentence, I hear a soft knock echo through my room. "Come in" I said before I close my book over. Looking up I notice my Mum is stood at the door, her hair is tied back from her face, her cardigan hanging off one shoulder.
She smiles at me before she walks over to me. "I didn't even hear you come in, I'm sorry. I guess I was too carried away" She said sheepishly, before she notices my notes scattered everywhere on my desk. "Homework? I'm about to make dinner before your Dad complains, love you" She said before she then heads towards the door.
"Okay, why do you work so hard for him? When all he does is come home, demand some food and goes up to his office and continues to work before he goes to bed? He doesn't show you any affection, I don't know why you slave for him" I blurt out.
Her eyes widen at my outburst. "What brought this on? And you know why, I love him. He is your Dad after all so there is no question about" She replies just as the front door slams closed, some of my photos shaking slightly from the force. She looks at me before giving me a smile and leaves my bedroom before I hear her light footsteps fade away.
Putting my books away, I then tidy my room before I collapse onto my bed. "Alisha, why isn't dinner on the table? You know how I always say when I come home from work I want food waiting on the table" He demands, his voice laced with anger.
"I'm sorry Dave, I got carried away with my writing. You know it's important to me. I'm sorry, it will be ready in ten minutes. You can get changed and sort a few things out and when you come down will be on the table" She said softly.
