Emilia's POV
By the time that I had arrived in Camelot I was exhausted. Just as I was ready to fall off my horse I heard shouting.
I turned to see several knights chasing a young boy in a blue cloak and his father. I jumped as I saw one of the men wound then young boy. I then saw his father raise his hand towards a knight as he flew backwards. My eyes grew wide as she realized he was using magic.
I watched as they struggled to get through the gates and saw as the father pushed his son forward and sacrificed himself.
The young boy ran into hiding and I knew that I couldn't just stand and watch this poor boy get killed so I discreetly moved towards him careful not to draw any attention as I knelt down out of site beside him. Startled, he looked up, terrified that I was after him.
"It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you. Are you alright?" I tried. He shook his head furiously, obviously terrified. "Help me, please." he cried but I noticed that his mouth never opened.
Doing my best to remain calm I whispered gently. "Don't worry, we'll get you out of here." I only hoped that I was right. The boy only remained silent, still shaking with fear.
The next thing I knew he had grabbed a hold of my hand and pulled me out with him as we ran towards a door leading to the castle. I noticed another young man there, he looked around my age and had black hair and wore a red
Soon we were running into a room and we found ourselves amongst two other women.
"Have you forgotten how to knock Merlin?" one of them asked. She was beautiful and by the looks of it, she was someone of importance.
"The guards are after him. I didn't know what to do." the man rushed.
The two woman then looked towards the child as there was knocking on the door and we heard "My Lady" She gave the boy an odd look before pointing to her right and saying "In there."
We ran towards the back, closing the bright red curtains behind us.
The door opened and I listened as the guard said he was searching for a young druid boy as the woman lied and said she hasn't seen him.
Finally they left but we realized that the boy had been wounded badly, much worse than I had thought. I sat beside him as he was laid down and remained there as the older boy, Merlin and the lady walked towards the window where the child's father was being executed. The child only stared at the window, his bright blue eyes wide as though he could see through it.
This time I grabbed his hand and whispered words of comfort. I started telling him a story that my mother had shared when I was young. I desperately tried everything in order to keep the boy away from what was happening just outside that window.
At this moment I didn't care that I was helping harbor a wanted boy inside the castle walls, all I could think about was his safety and that he was protected and taken care of.
The black haired woman who's room this was soon walked over to us saying only that she couldn't watch. She too offered comfort to the child who still held a blank expression on his face.
Only seconds later though the boy screamed and the mirror beside Merlin shattered. I exchanged a worried look with him as I grabbed onto the child tighter.

After the boy calmed down a bit I found myself pacing around the room. I realized that I have no idea who these people are and I am committing a crime with them without even knowing if I could trust them.
I decided that I would have to be the one to initiate a conversation. I looked towards the man beside me who was sitting in a chair staring at the ground. I held my hand out to him and spoke. "I'm Emilia, I suppose I should thank you for saving us out there."
He looked up at my hand and took it without hesitation. "Do you know the boy?" He asked gently.
"No," I responded. "I only saw him and his father as I arrived here, I couldn't leave him."
He nodded and sat up in his seat. "Well, that was very brave of you to do." he started. "I'm Merlin by the way and that there is lady Morgana." he stated pointing towards the bed where she sat beside the child.
"She was very kind, to risk this all I mean."
Once more he only responded with a nod before looking up again. "You are new in Camelot?"
"Yes" I respond. "I arrived only moments before the scene with the boy and his father."
"Do you have a place to stay?" He wondered. "No" I stated as I shook my head. "It was sort of an impulsive decision to come here."
"Well, you are more than welcome to stay with us; myself and Gaius that is, he's the court physician." I widened my eyes and responded gratefully. "You really don't have to, that's very kind."
"I know, but you have risked your life, it's only fair that you have a place to stay while you are here." he reasoned.
Without giving any warning I hugged the man not caring how awkward it may be seeing as I have been through a lot these past few months and I could really use a friend. "Thank you Merlin, that truly means a lot to me."
