By the age of 19, Emilia had stayed in towns all over, but never quite able to settle down in one for her powers got her into trouble quite often

She had finally come to discover her gift several months after leaving her home. She had made camp in the woods to settle for the night but found herself freezing and with it being the only thing on her mind she found herself startled as a flame came to light beside her. Scared and desperate she inched closer while focusing on the flame. She knew this was no coincidence for she was all alone in the forest.

She imagined the fire going out and concentrated deeply with her eyes closed. When she opened them, the fire was gone, leaving only the smoke behind.

After this incident Emilia found that she could do all sorts of things when she concentrated or sometimes even if her emotion was so great, things would happen themselves on instinct.

Although this excited her, it also frightened her as she knew what happened to people such as her. She would be shown no mercy as she burned at the stake.

For this very reason, the young sorceress found it nearly impossible to settle down anywhere as there was a great threat constantly following her as well as anyone she befriended. It was only a year ago that she found herself forced to leave a town after a young man she had grown close to confessed to using sorcery in order to protect Emilia after she had used her magic to cure a little boy suffering from a severe sickness.

The entire town was gathered to watch as her only friend was murdered in cold blood. Each and every town that she went to found itself welcoming the same witch hunter that had caused her this great pain. She couldn't stand it as he mercilessly tore apart homes and families in order to get his pay. It made her sick to her stomach so she made sure that once his name had been whispered she would leave immediately.

After a while, she stopped growing close to people as she felt she only caused pain in the lives of others and brought danger with her everywhere that she went.

By the age of 18 though, the girl found herself growing tired of the same routine and only watching as people suffered before her. She decided to have no more of it and soon found herself settling for a short time due to the meeting of a man named Lancelot. He had a kind soul and was the only person who had approached her in a long time.

She discovered that he had a talent with a sword and she found herself interested in this field after some time. He had agreed to teach her what he knew asking only for her friendship in return. Hesitantly she had agreed seeing as she desperately wanted to learn to fight in order to stand up for herself and others instead of cowering away at the sight of the man who still to this day sends chills down her spine.

Emilia stayed with Lancelot for a year and they grew very close and she grew very strong. He told her that she had become a great and honorable swords-woman and that she could probably take him down in a fight if given the chance. She smiled at that and told him she could never truly repay him for all he had done for her.

He only shook his head and stated "You're friendship has been more than enough, I only wish I could stay longer and see you achieve the greatness that I know you one day will."

This caused a single tear to fall from Emilia's face as she jumped and enveloped her friend the biggest hug she could muster. This only made him chuckle softly as he pulled away, grasping her arms in one of his as his other wiped the tears that were falling. "I could come with you, I could help." She cried as she had a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach that this would be the last time she saw her dear friend.

"No Lily," He started using his nickname for her. "You know that I could not bear it if you were put in a dangerous situation. I know that you can handle yourself, I do know that, but I don't want to put you in a situation where you're faced with danger, not on my account."

Emilia only hugged him once more, somehow managing to grab onto him even tighter as her tears fell freely now. He was leaving, he wanted to become a knight of Camelot and she knew better than to stand in the way of his only dream. She knew she had to let him go, she only wished that it wouldn't hurt so much.

"Take care of yourself, promise me that you will."

"I promise." She whispered honestly.

No more words were exchanged between the two as he turned toward his horse. She closed her eyes tightly as she heard the horse galloping away and when she reopened them, he was gone. "Goodbye, Lancelot"

Emilia awoke one morning to the sound of terrified screams. She ran towards the window only to see woman and children being thrown out of their houses as men marched inside them.

She didn't know what to think until she saw him, the man who had caused her so much pain over the years. The witch hunter. Confused, she began to panic. She knew that she was the only witch in the town seeing as though she had personally gotten to know everyone from around there since it was so small.

Realization hit her and she realized the only person he could be here for was her. Despite her dream to fight and stand up for herself, she also knew that she would be putting those around her in danger by doing so. It was smarter not to fight for now seeing as no one was yet being accused. With this knowledge she scurried about her room throwing all she had into her bag and running out the back entrance towards the stables to get a horse.

She rode out quickly and took towards the direction no one was near and entered the woods for what she told herself would be that last time.

She headed for the only place left she knew of; she headed towards Camelot.
