Opia (Ichigo x reader)

Petrichor

You're running as fast as you can. You barely just got the hang of flash step and can only use it every so often. You stop to get some breath behind a rock. Then you heard it coming, fast.
You jump out from behind the rock and jump into the air and yell, "Bakudō 8! Seki!" And a shield protects you from the fast hit. The pressure if it hitting your shield threw you backwards on to the ground, hard. You tumbled.
You hear it coming fast for you again. You are now even more out of breath and kinda sore. You lift up your zanpakutō lazily and barely deflected it. It landed loud by you. You don't know if you can go on anymore. Then a sweaty Renji landed next to you.
"Are you at your limit? I'm getting pretty close myself. I don't know if I can train with both you and Sado, especially in one day."
"Yeah, I'm pretty tired. That's good for today. We've been at it for a few hours. And don't worry, I have Tessai and Yoruichi too." You say.

It's been a good week since you've seen Ichigo. But knowing where he is and what he is doing makes its bit better. You've become rather close with Renji too on your guy's free time.
Yesterday you used some money Urahara has given you for taking care of shop and a little Renji brought too to go out into town with him and buy a gaming console he saw earlier and had been wanting for a few days. Urahara sent you two out to get some stuff and he saw it in the window. He pressed his nose against the class.
"Woah, what's that?" He asked. There was a screen showing gameplay.
"Oh, it's a gaming console. You put a disk inside that box right there and use the controls there to control that character on the screen. My- my younger brother was into these things. I'd play with him sometimes." You explained.
"Oh man, can we get it?" He said.
"Uh, of course. It would be really cool to have this for our free time." You replied. "We should probably get what Urahara asked of us first and then when we drop off all the goods, we can come back and get it."

After training today, there was a lot of yelling.
"Hey! You're cheating!" Renji yelled.
"What?? How am I cheating?" You reply. He was angry that you already knew all the combo moves to the game you were playing. Renji reached over and messed with the controls on your remote. You whack him in the head with it.
"Hey! What the hell?" He yells rubbing his head pouting.
"Deserved it, freeloader. You're the cheater!" Jinta said watching you and Renji play. "When is it my turn?" He whines.
"When you learn to be nice!" Renji says smugly smashing his remote to try and figure out the combo moves you told him about.
"Grrrrr!" Renji growls. There is now only 10 seconds left of the round, so you and Renji get on your feet jumping around, and yelling, trying to win. Just about when Renji was going to win the TV shut off.
"WHAT?!" You, Renji and Jinta yell collectively. Then you see a grinning Urahara holding the plug to the counsel and twirling it around.
"Chores!" He says with a big smile.
"But (Y/N) and I just got done training!" Renji moans. You sit up slowly, "Come on Renji we gotta to what we gotta do."
"That's the spirit (Y/N)!" Urahara says bringing you in for a quick hug. "How was the training?"
"I've gotten a whole lot better at kidō, I was able to perfectly deflect Renji's Zabimaru!"
"Wow! You used Bakudō 8?"
You look up at him and smile big and nod.
"That's my girl!" Urahara says giving you a quick forhead kiss.
"Actually, correct me if I'm wrong, but she's my girl." You hear a familiar voice say coming in the front door. You turn around and see Ichigo standing in the door way with his arms open, with the biggest grin.
"Ichigo!!" You yell running to him and jumping into his arms. He twirls you around and around while you both giggled. He stopped and let you down and softy grabbed your face and kissed you.
"What are you doing here?! I wasn't expecting you for a little under a month!" You say.
"Shinji said that I should take a break so I don't kill myself with this constant training. I eventually agreed because I thought about coming and seeing you for a day. I hope Urahara doesn't mind if I steal you." He says looking at him raising his eyebrows.
"Ah, sure. Only because you rascals haven't seen each other much." Urahara replies.
"Aw, thank you Kisuke!" You say very happily. Running to give him a quick hug.
You left with Ichigo without hesitation, holding on to him. You walked for a while without talking. Just soaking up each other's presence.
"Hey, wanna tell me where you're headed? This isn't the way to your home."
"You'll see. And no, I don't want to go home just yet. You telling me how upset Yuzu and Karin are, it would be mean of me to go and see them just to leave again. I know that's what I'm doing now to you, but you're older and more understanding and know why I must do this even though it sucks for everyone."
"I do understand and I think that is a valid reason not to go see them. I know you're dying to."
"You're right. Can you tell me, what is my dad saying about it? How crazy?"
"He tried telling the girls it's because your a teenager and you and him were quite alike. That you're out by the ocean some where yelling or some crap like that."
Both of you hysterically laugh for a while. Ichigo wiping away tears from his eyes after laughing so hard he says, "We're almost there."
After a little bit of walking, you guys reach a bus stop.
"Bus stop?" You ask curious.
"Yeah, sorry gotta take the bus but it's not long I swear!"
"Oh I don't mind at all." You say giving him a quick kiss before getting on, you guys were just on time. The bus had just arrived. There were a lot of people getting on. Luckily it was a big bus. By the time you were on the bus, you had forgotten you could see where the bus was headed in the front. Dang, you say to yourself.
Ichigo lets you sit in the inside and he sat next to you. The ride wasn't to long, Karakura Town was a bit far from everything else. You've never been outside of it until now. The whole ride, you snuggled up to Ichigo with his arm around you, you dozed off a bit. You were still pretty exhausted from training with Renji today. You must have trained for at least 3 hours.
"We are almost there, love." He whispers into your ear. You get up sleepily and look around. The sun is setting and you're in a giant place with big buildings and bright lights. Once the bus stops, you and Ichigo wait in your seats for everyone to go. Then you rush out and go into the city. You look up and all around in amazement of everything.
"I love watching your eyes glow in intriguement. I can tell when you are inspired. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." Ichigo says grabbing you playfully from behind and walking you to the side walk with you giggling. You turn around and put yourself against his chest and look up at him, "Where are we?"
"Shibuya Crossing. One of the busiest crossings in the world. I wanted to come later in the day so you can see all the city lights. I remember when you first came to live here with me, when I took you into town, you looked like you enjoyed the sight of life and bright, pretty lights. So I thought this place was perfect to take you."
"It is! There looks like there is so much to do here." You say excitedly. You look around and see lots of people performing or doing weird but yet awesome things. Cool attractions. Everything. You had forgotten how this world is while trying to survive in the Rukongai. This is why it intrigued you so much.
"Thank you." You whisper go on your tiptoes ti whisper in his ear. He kisses your neck and you two grab hands and walk off. Ichigo was hungry so you guys stopped at the cutest café you've ever seen in your whole life! The pastries were decorated so cute. You wanted them all. Of course Ichigo offered to get you one of each but you refused. You always felt bad when people bought you things but it always seemed like everyone must insist.
After you ate, while taking many pictures with a quick camera you two bought at a stand outside, you went off to an arcade kind of place. There were lots of littler kids running around but there were also some young adult couples like you too being cute.
As soon as you walked in, there was a "Sword Match" game that was popular. You and Ichigo walk up to it to look and you get sticks and see who is a better swordsman. You and Ichigo smile at each if he and silently agree to show off.
Once you two were up, you got your sticks and went at it. Everyone around was cheering both you on like they were watching professionals, well they kinda were. The match ended with Ichigo on the ground with you over him with the stick to his forehead. You smiled at him and gave him a hand to help him up.
When you left, you had many people begging to have a round with you. But you and Ichigo went off to something else, with huge smiles.

The night went on for a while. You guys were out for a long time into the night. Almost midnight. You even had a worried Urahara call Ichigo making sure you were alright.
"I don't know how that man will let you fight against evil and risk your life but once you're not home or a certain amount of hours, then he's really worried." Ichigo says laughing.
You both were getting pretty tired and were thinking about finding a cab because it's gotten way to late for buses. While walking, it had begun to rain hard. You two rush to find an umbrella but it was to late. The both of you were drenched. You both stood there laughing hysterically. You honestly didn't care you were soaking. Ichigo moved your hair out of your face and kissed you passionately while the rain was pouring on you two.
"I love the rain." You say looking up letting it hit your face. Ichigo softly grabs your face and lowers it back to where you make eye contact, "I love you."
"I love you too, Mr. Sappy." You giggle giving him another quick kiss.
"Oh I'm sappy?" He asks sassy like.
"These dates we have are totally sappy but that's what I love most about them." You reply. He goes in for another kiss. A girl walked by you two, "Can I just say you two are the cutest thing I've ever seen?" She said.
"Thank you!" You both say.

The rain had stopped and you and Ichigo decided to go find a calmer place to sit down and dry off. Ichigo ended up going into a place and grabbing you a new outfit to change into, same for him. Once you two were all dry, you looked for a ride and flagged down a taxi.
"Where you headed." The driver asked.
"I hope you don't mind but Karakura Town, please."
The driver agreed and you were off.
The windows were down blowing in a lot of air but you didn't mind. The sweet smell of rain was flowing everywhere. You snuggled up with Ichigo because you were a little chilly and he held you tight.
There's nothing better than this. The sweet petrichor in the air and a love between two people that will never break. This life seems unreal but your soul knows it real for you feel the love so deep within it. You hope and pray this will never end.
You fall asleep peacefully in Ichigo's arms. Once you get back to Karakura Town, Ichigo wakes you up for a second to get out of the cab. Then he picks you up and carries you inside of Urahara's shop and lays you down in your bed.
You immediately feel back asleep. Ichigo stayed for a bit playing with your hair. He leans in and whispers, "I'll be back soon. I promise. I love you for understanding I must go and become stronger. I'll protect you correctly this time, I promise." He gave you a kiss on the forehead and walked out determined to become stronger. For you.
