Chapter 6

Miyoko stood besides Soul, remaining close to him. She was worried, both about Claude and Maka as well as the weapon who stood besides her. She wouldn't be able to live with herself if the others managed to get significantly injured while on a mission she asked them to join them on. Her hands were shaking slightly at the thought the others could be hurt. Soul gazed over at her and noticed her fidgeting nervous habit through the dimly lit hallway. His hand gently took hold of her's.

"Relax.... we're cool." He smiled to her and she was happy for the darkness, because without it her bright red cheeks would be fully visible to the weapon before her.

"But Claude and Maka... They are defenseless without the two of us." She stated looking down, Soul shook his head and chuckled at Miyoko's statement.

"My Meister is stronger then you think. Also it doesn't seem like that weapon of yours is completely useless without you." Soul stated trying to cheer her up a bit, when her head remained down he lifted her chin gently with his finger and smiled. "Relax... we will find them and you'll see i'm right." His face was close to her's, she didn't know what to do besides remain still and attempt to conceal her brightened face. She nodded ever so slightly and he smiled holding her hand in his and stepping back as they started down the long, cold and damp hallway. She remained by Soul's side, dripping of water was heard as they walked. The cold and damp atmosphere sent chills down Miyoko's spine.

A loud noise echoed through the long corridor like a pair of blades sheering across one another. Soul watched the hall a bit careful of what could come towards them. Miyoko held her breath but her eyes narrowed towards the direction that the noise came from. Quick footsteps were harsh against the cobblestone floors coming towards them. the two stepped back slightly as a large kishin with blades for arms came darting towards them.

"Get back!" Soul told her, his arm transforming into a blade and he stood in front of her. She shook her head and took a deep breath standing her ground, dodging under Soul's arm and in front of him now.

  As the kishin got closer she placed her feet firmly apart on the ground, and used her hands to replicate the ability she saw done by Blackstar. She shocked the kishin with her wavelength, Soul watched her in shock. When did she learn that? She used her speed to charge at the beast before it realized she had even moved as it flew back. Before it touched the ground she took another deep breath and shocked it again, slamming it harshly into the wall. It fell to the ground and struggled to stand but managed to do so. It's eyes became harsh and hungry now, glaring at Miyoko and wanting her soul for itself.

"Soul... Transform..." Miyoko stated looking over to him calmly. He shook his head and clenched his fists glaring at the beast that glared at her.

"Not gonna happen! I'm not gonna just hide in my weapon form and let you get hurt--"

"Just do it Soul!" She said in a serious and demanding voice, he was caught a bit off guard to her new aura and noticed the kishin start it's movements towards Miyoko. He gritted his teeth and did as she told him to do. Her speed becoming especially handy in this moment, as he grew closer to the ground in his scythe form she grabbed a hold of him with ease and used his spinning against the kishin. Blocking it's blades with no issue, after a few hits she swung and sliced directly through the Kishin's torso. The kishin became a red floating soul and Miyoko sighed in relief as Soul transformed back to his human form and looked at her completely amazed by everything he just witnessed her do.

"What the hell was that? You can attack directly with your wavelength? And did you just use me as your weapon with no issue what so ever?!" He was in shock, looking over the girl before him. "I'm so confused! could you maybe enlighten me a bit?" He continued asking countless questions in his confusion, repeating a few without meaning to. She giggled at his frantic questions and sat on her knees for a moment. Soul looked at her with widened eyes and got down next to her with worried looks. "Are you okay?" she smiled and nodded looking up at him with her light green eyes, hopeful and calming to him.
