Barney stood there, pale white and looking almost shell shocked. "WHAT THE HELL?!" He shrieked.

Yellow felt a sinking feeling in his chest, and almost as immediately as he had been set free, he disappeared, letting Purple to take over. Purple was scared out of his mind.

"We can explain!" Purple insisted.

"WE?!" Barney looked just about ready to pass out.

"Um... Yeah." Purple mumbled. "I'm sorry... Orange is better at this kind of thing. I wish he was talking to you."

"You-You're all different?" Barney stuttered. "B-but h-h-how?"

"I don't know why." Purple admitted. "But we've been this way ever since we've been born. That's why we don't know much, why we're clumsy, and socially awkward. We never knew anyone before you. Our parents never let us see anyone. And they kept us hidden away! But... But I really like you. We all like you! And... I can understand if you're scared of us."

Purple hung his head and sighed. "I understand fear more than anyone else. Trust me."

Slowly Purple started to fade into Blue. Barney was speechless. He didn't know what to think or say or do. No words would come. He didn't know what he wanted to say. But he knew one thing. He liked Red. Would he be able to accustom himself to this strange affliction Red... Purple... Blue... He... Seemed to have?

"I-I don't." Barney stumbled over his words. "I guess, that's..." Barney fully intended to run away. Just fucking book it and forget he ever saw anything.

Until he saw the tears start to roll down Blue's face.

"Oh! Don't cry!" Barney said, beginning to panic as he pulled Blue into his arms.

"Blue can't help it!" He hiccuped. "You're the first friend Blue ever had! Blue doesn't want to lose his friend!" The man in his arms wailed in despair and grasped the front of Barney's shirt. Barney felt a wave of guilt wash over him and he held onto Blue tighter.

"I'm not going to leave you. Or abandon you. I... I like you too. I like like you. I suppose this is a bit strange, but there are probably stranger things out there, right?"

Blue looked up at Barney with wide, innocent eyes. "Really? You aren't going to leave Blue?"

"Nah." Barney said, holding onto Blue tighter. "I've gotcha. And about the payback for the bike? That was a pretty great kiss. Care to give me any more?"

Blue smiled, and then started to laugh. Quickly the blue tint and coloring left his skin and hair, leaving Barney with the Red he knew well huddled in his arms. "Yeah, I'd like that."
