Time for Orange's power to be tested out. Today we put another piece in the puzzle. But don't worry, dear readers. All will be explained in due time.

Red sat down, sighing and trying to relax himself. Clear himself of any and all emotions. His heart was racing, but his mind was clear. Barney sat across from him, looking nervous. He still didn't quite understand the extent of Red's power. Or any of the other colors. But he was willing to find out. Even if it scared him.
After several tense minutes Red's colors bled out to reveal his orange skin and eyes. He blinked furiously, trying to clear his vision. He had been changing too much recently. Before they were always either in Blue or Purple form as children. But he had been transforming a lot lately. It was probably more than he could handle. Or maybe it was the stress of being hunted by the mafia. It was anyone's guess at this point.
Barney closed his eyes as Orange leaned in. As if he was going to kiss him. He drew a deep and steady breath and exhaled into Barney's face.
Again came the orange mist. Barney opened his eyes to see it glittering before him. The sunlight making it brighter. Nervously, Barney breathed it in and held his breath. His lungs burned at first, but then it faded into a pleasant tingling feeling followed by euphoria. A peaceful feeling or relaxation that Barney needed so desperately after the stress recently. He breathed a sigh of relief, breathing in more of the mist. That's when he felt the connection. A buzz of energy like a static shock, but on a much grander scale. He was a tree and Orange was the lightning. Barney gasped. Surprised and short of breath. Orange seemed to mimic his reaction. Both men's pupils were dilated. Barney's showing his pale blue and Orange's bright red ring of iris standing out dramatically. They could feel each other. Like they were linked psychically. Orange anticipated every move Barney made and Barney felt the contractions of Oranges lungs as he breathed. They could hear each other's heartbeat. But it was so much more intense for Orange. He could hear Barney's thoughts as clear as his own. It was like his brother colors were talking to him, but this time it was his boyfriend.
Woah. Barney thought. This is freaky. Is Orange okay with this? It's a lot to take in and his life is stressful as is.
"I'm okay." Orange assured aloud. "This isn't my strangest power.
Barney's eyes widened. You can hear my thoughts?! Do I need a tin foil hat now?
"What?"
Nothing. Just a joke.
"This is really weird." Orange huffed, shaking his head violently. "How do I stop? I'm not sure if I like this."
No idea. Barney thought. This is all as new to me as it is to you.
Orange shook his head more. How did he stop it?! He had no idea how to control his magic. It just sort of... Happened. Usually when he was in danger or just on accident. He felt helpless and scared. Barney seemed to sense this, because Orange could sense the spike of anxiety increase inside his lover as well. Finally, Orange did the one thing he knew would break the link.
He transformed.
His eyes rolled back in his head as another shock of energy passed between them as the bond between them shattered. Barney shook, falling back a bit in shock as the breaking of the link caused a surge of pain. He had a mild headache now when Green appeared in front of him.
"Hm." Green hummed. "I see you two have been busy. Discovering all the colors powers. Good for you. Fucking Black Leopard sons of bitches. How has the police not caught these bastards yet?"
"Good to see you too, Green." Barney said.
Green huffed impatiently. "Ugh. Yeah, hi. Whatever."
"Yeah, the police are idiots, to answer your question." Barney replied. "You could trust them, or you could not. But they aren't always going to take the side of good."
Green scoffed, rolling his eyes at Barney. "I know. I'm not an idiot. Have you discovered Yellow's power yet?"
Barney shook his head. Green rolled his eyes again. "Figures. Yellow's always late to mature. Part of his charm, I suppose."
He just nodded quietly. Barney was too busy thinking to properly reply to Green's sassiness. Thinking about Orange and Red and Purple. All of the powers they had. Everything that was happening. He was so unsure lately. He felt like he had lost control of his once mundane and boring life. Now that he had an exciting and dangerous life he realized how nice boring had been.
But at the same time...
Being in love was the best thing that had ever happened to him. Especially with men like the colors. Everything was difficult, dangerous, and different from what it seemed to be. It was by far the most confusing time in Barney's life. But he wouldn't trade it in for anything. Because Red and his other colors were worth the danger at the end of the day. He had come so far with Red by his side, and he wasn't giving in now.
Green studied him with interest. Watching the expressions crossing Barney's face and trying to determine what he was feeling. Now he wished the link was still there so he could hear what Barney was thinking. With a sigh, he gave up on trying to analyze Barney and just pulled his boyfriend into his arms. "Shut up. Stop thinking about it. Idiot."
Barney paused, putting his arms around Green. Pulling him in closer. "I love you too."
