Two years into the future from the previous chapter. The final chapter of Rainbow Heart. We had a good run. But it's time to say goodby. I'll miss this book. May you cry many tears and love the end.
===========================
Pink cried out in agony. She was covered in blood, sweating, and in the worst pain of her life. Everything was a mess. Barney held her hand.
"Come on, babe!" He shouted. "It's almost done! Just a little more!"
She groaned and spread her legs just a bit wider. It slid past the opening and out into the doctor's hands. The head.
"OH MY GOD!" Barney screamed. He was crying. Bawling just like their new child as it was handed to Pink. She gasped and held it's tiny hand. She was crying too. It was slimy, cold, and shrieking right in her ear. She was in the worst pain of her life. But she was so happy. Her child was finally in her arms. After nine months of waiting. A beautiful baby boy.
Barney leaned over the bed to kiss his wife and newborn child. The other nurses were moving about, wiping him and Pink down and wrapping the child in towels. But they weren't paying attention to all that. They were focused on their miracle.
"Dashiel." She gasped. "I want to name him Dashiel."
"Can I call him Dash?" He asked.
Pink smiled. "Hell yeah."
Navaeh, now five years old, ran anxiously to greet her new brother. Their friends followed closely behind. Max was crying. Ross was crying. Adam was sobbing. Everyone was in tears.
Except for Navaeh. She was so excited. She rushed forward to jump onto the bed and scoot up close to her mama.
"Oooooh! Baby!" She exclaimed. Barney grinned.
"Right you are." He said.
Adam reached forward to touch Dashiel. "God, his skin is so soft." Adam whispered. "I remember when I had skin that good. I wish." Barney chucked.
"He's amazing." Max said.
Pink snuggled up to her son. They all stood there marveling the child until the nurses came to take him away. They had to clean him, weigh him, and help Pink freshen up.
"She's got a lot of recovering to do." The nurse said. "Don't let her transform into one of the other colors until at least a month has gone by. I'm sure you miss your husbands, but they all need time to heal."
Barney nodded quickly. "Hey Barney!" Adam called. "You're going to need more money to raise this kid, you wanna raise?"
"The answer to that is always yes." Barney replied with a grateful grin.
Adam laughed. "You got it."
An hour later everyone was settled down. They had given Dashiel back to breastfeed. Barney watched Pink raise their son up and urge him to suck. "So, no more kids?"
Pink smiled. "I'm good with two. Besides, this one will be a handful. I can tell."
"What do you mean?" Barney asked, leaning on the side of the bed.
"Dash is going to be mentally handicapped." She said. "And he inherited my magic."
Barney gasped. "Really?!"
She nodded. "He hasn't opened his eyes yet, but you'll see when he does." She said cryptically. "They're special eyes."
"Okay." Barney said. "Do you know what how handicapped he is?"
Pink shook her head. "Unfortunately, no. But I do know he'll be smart. Smarter than you'd think. Don't worry, it's my mother's instinct."
Barney grinned at her words. She was constantly talking about her mother's instinct. All mothers did. But Pink's instinct was true. It was magic. She knew things that no other mother could. She knew the baby's gender at one month. Before the tests could even prove. She predicted morning sickness, hormones, cravings, and details about the birth. Barney had no doubt that her mothering instinct would prove vital in the future years of parenting. Just like it had with Navaeh.
Speaking of Navaeh, Adam was taking her for the day. She needed to go to kindergarten and a dentists appointment. Barney needed to be with his wife. Adam understood. He loved the kid anyway.
Barney leaned forward and kissed Dash's forehead. "God I love this kid." He whispered.
"Yeah, you better." She mumbled. "Cause we're stuck with him for at least eighteen years now."
Barney threw his head back and laughed. Pink laughed too. Dash whimpered in annoyance as his place on his mother's breast was disturbed. Life was good.

Later they were signing paperwork, reviewing things they had discovered during their tests.
"Your son has a strange condition." The doctor says. "I believe it has to do with your wife's magical powers."
Barney leaned in. "Yes?"
The doctor smiled. "It would be easier to show you what it is."
He leaned forward and took Dashiel from Pink. She smiled as he did so. A knowing smile. Barney knew that Pink knew what the condition was. She was just keeping it a surprise for him.
The doctor carefully pulled open Dash's eyelids and revealed them to Barney. He gasped as he looked into the eyes of his child.
Bright, rainbow irises on beautiful eyes looked up at him as Dashiel saw his father for the first time.
