Time for some explanation!
===========================
When Barney awoke, he saw Green staring down at him.
"Were you watching me sleep?" Barney asked groggily.
Green blushed wildly. "No! D-dummy!"
Barney smiled at Green's nervous behavior. "I love you too." He said.
Green shook his head and grew redder. But Barney knew what he meant. The moment only lasted for a second in time. Then Barney remembered the events of the previous night. Oh yeah, he was calling in sick today.
"Um.... Are you comfortable explaining things now?" Barney asked. The blush disappeared from Green's face, replaced with a grim expression.
"Yeah... I can try." Green said tentatively. "Get some hot chocolate ready... This is going to be a long talk.
Barney hurried to do what Green had asked for, heating up some milk in the microwave and calling in to say he wouldn't be at work today. Then he mixed in the powder and brought it to Green, who was waiting patiently on the bed. Green thanked him as he took the mug. Barney sat beside his boyfriend and looked at him. He seemed like he wasn't sure what to say. Finally, after a long pause, Green opened his mouth.
"As you know," he began, "Each color represents something. A feeling, an action, a choice... A part of human nature. Everything that a normal human feels, we feel the same things, but stronger. We have powers and abilities that seem impossible to most."
Barney nodded. Green sighed.
"Pink represents the feminine part of human nature. Love, maturity, responsibility, heartbreak, trust, and motherly instinct. Honestly, she's more of a mother to us than a sister. Even as a child she was mature. You can't hide your feelings from her. She always knows what you're feeling." Green sighed. "Honestly, when she disappeared, we nearly died. The balance she brought us kept us alive in our time of need."
He downed the last of his cocoa and looked down at the empty cup. "Especially me."
"Yeah. She told me about that." Barney said. "She said that she represents fertility... Just like you."
Green nodded eagerly. "You're right. Me and Pink are closely connected. We have the strongest connection out of all the colors. That's why when she transformed back, it was me instead of Red. Because we're so similar. We're almost... Twins."
Barney was quiet while Green collected himself. "That's one of the hardest parts of our childhood for me. When Pink left us into the Darkness, I was left alone. Or at least.... That's what it felt like. Like a piece of me was missing. The other colors missed her.... But I was heartbroken. That's when I knew true pain. It hurt more than any bruise I had to heal."
He was quiet.
"Pink... Doesn't trust men anymore. She thinks that they're selfish." Green shook his head. "I don't blame her. After what happened..."
"I have a question about that too." Barney interrupted.
"...Yes?" Green asked.
"Well... How is it that your male body can transform so flawlessly into a.... Female body?"
Green frowned. "I was afraid you would ask that. I can't actually say for sure. But I have a theory."
"We all share the same physical form and mind. Honestly... I think that our body is technically both male and female. Or neither.... Our body may actually be... Nonexistent? I can't actually say. We'll never know. But I do know that... Pink has... A..."
Green flushed again. Barney was right there with him. Bright red and horribly flustered.
"You better not touch my sister!" Green shouted. Barney jumped a little.
"I won't!" Barney promised. "Even if I wanted to.... I wouldn't. I don't think she's ready for sexual activity. She might not ever be. I can respect that."
Green looked the other way to hide the fact that he was crying now. He sniffed. "She appreciates that." He informed Barney.
"No problem." Barney said quietly. "You should feel comfortable with sex before it happens. Otherwise it won't be good."
Green nodded. "So... What if we're never ready?"
"Yes?"
"Well, if we're really together forever, you'll never be able to have sex in our relationship."
Barney smiled, trying to reassure Green. "Listen, I don't love you for your body. I love you for your.... Colorful personality."
Green wrinkled his nose, trying not to laugh. But he did anyway. He laughed so loud that he vibrated, doubling over with the need to breathe. Barney found himself laughing too. It was such a horrible joke. It was just awful. But Barney loved Green. He loved Green's laugh. And he loved being in love with him.

This was a bad explanation and also really corny. Things will probably make more sense later.
