It only occurred to Jess when he went to bed if Edmund Pevensie had seen the Terabithian creatures wandering our the magical forest. Then again, it took Jess a few days before believing in the magic that Leslie made.

Jess and Leslie didn't see Edmund Pevensie till Monday morning. Jess jumped off the desk in front of Leslie's when Mrs. Myers came in.

Mr Turner, the same teacher who brought Leslie down to class a few months ago, brought Edmund Pevensie to Mrs. Myers' fifth grade class.

Edmund walked in with his bag over his shoulder, his other hand dug deep into his pockets as Mr Turner walked him in. His dark brown hair was a little messier than usual, but his pale skin was just as pale as the first time Jess saw him. He was wearing a white collared shirt underneath his brown hooded jacket and black plaid shorts.

Jess noticed that Edmund had showed a small smile toward Leslie's direction when he walked in. He sneaked a glance at Leslie's desk and saw her smiling toward Edmund as well.

Students began whispering and murmuring amongst themselves when they saw Edmund Pevensie standing at the front with a blank expression.

Jess began looking around the room to see where Edmund would sit. Ever since Leslie's transfer, Mrs. Myers had gotten the class two more tables. There was one which was just beside where Leslie was, and the other at the windows of the right side of the room.

When Mrs. Myers had up her mind and decided to put him to the desk beside Leslie, he walked past several tables and settled into his desk next to Leslie's. He turned to Leslie and showed a grin before looking to the front as Mrs. Myers proceeded to start lessons.

As time went on, Jess stole a look at Leslie's desk and found her to be smiling at Edmund, and actually giggling with him. What could Edmund Pevensie be saying that would actually dare Leslie to laugh in class? He didn't know.

"Jesse Aarons. Gary Fulcher. Please pass the textbooks out."

Jess hid the piece of drawing under his table and roused himself up, being pushed by Fulcher as he got up and went to the front. When he passed Leslie's table, he placed her book down onto her table and felt a little annoyed when she didn't seem to realize his presence. He walked past them and continued on with the rest.

Scott Hoager grabbed his arm as he walked by after giving him his book. "Look's like lil Miz Leslie Burke has a new boyfriend." Jess shook Hoager's hand off of his arm and ignored his comment. His entire class teased him about his friendship with Leslie. Now that Edmund Pevensie was here, maybe things will change. Maybe Jess will revert back to being a loner in school. Just like last time.

After class when the recess bell rang, Jess sneaked in with the rest of the class who were racing out of the room, still slightly annoyed with the giggling that was going on whenever he looked at Leslie's direction. He dug his hands deep into his pockets and briskly walked along the halls.

"Hey," he heard her say.

Jess glanced at her and then looked straight forward without saying anything.

"Why didn't you wait for me?"

"No reason." He didn't exactly feel like walking with BOTH of them... "Where's Mr Pevensie?"
