Chapter 37

Conor's (aka B ;) ) POV

"Well... it all started when I was born, obviously" I start, coughing. The handcuffs were rubbing against my skin, I can feel my skin going red and sore.

"My parents divorced when I was 6 months old" I said, memories flooding back. The screaming and crying from my mother echoing around the house, and my father's shouting ringing in my ears. One of my first ever memories of my parents and my childhood.

"My mum left me, and I was left with my Dad. He was abusive since he was always drinking alcohol, going to the pub and leaving me for hours" I shake slightly. "He would slap me and hurt me when I cried. When I was two, I was trying to reach the cereal box, I was starving. He hit me hard on the head, and I fell onto the tiles" My eyes start watering and I look around. Mark's face is hard and is full of anger. Jack's face softened, Laura was looking at the floor.

"Anyways, people found out and he was taken away from me for a few years until I was twelve. I was stupid to forgive him when he came back, he was being so kind, and all I wanted was a father. I wanted a family" A tear rolled down my  cheek. Mark folds his arms. "I still don't get what this has to do with harassing us" He says. "I'm getting to it" I say quietly.

"He was nice for a few months, but he soon went back to his normal ways. People would come to check on him, but they always came on his better days. He hit me harder, throwing me down the stairs. I was too scared to ask for help" I continue.

"A few months back, he started talking about the lgbtq community. He told me that being gay was wrong, that they should die and leave this Earth" Jack is shocked, and even Mark has softer expressions on his face.

"He said if I came out as gay, he would disown me and leave me on the street. He said that if I meet a gay person, you should not talk to them, hurt them, do anything to ruin their lives"

"I found YouTube, and these things called 'ships'. I found out about Dan and Phil (in this story they're together!) and with my Dad's words stuck in my mind I had to do something. I didn't get far, and I left my father so I wouldn't get caught. I told him I wanted to move out to get a life of my own. He told me that he was proud of me for moving out by myself etc" The policewoman is writing nearly everything down, pages of her notebook full already.

"So I moved out, bought a small crappy car and moved to where I live now. A floor underneath Jack, Mark and Laura. That's when I found out about Jack and Mark being together" Jack and Mark look at each other, they were piecing everything together, and it was all making sense so far.

"I put a plan into action, I don't know what came over me. I just needed them, gone" Jack grabs Mark's hand tightly.

"I found out that they were adopting a child, you Laura" Laura doesn't look up, she just nods her head. "I had already started to blackmail Jack and Mark, and when I found out you were adopting Laura it made my plan more interesting" I continue.

"I saw her leaving your flat one day with another woman" Laura looks up, "Cristina" she mutters and I nod. "I followed them back to the adoption place, finding out where she lived" Laura looks up shocked. "You were the person I smiled at going down the stairs! How did I not recognise you?" She asks and I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know" I mutter.

"Anyways, that went on for a while. Suddenly I had a brilliant plan to get rid of Jack and Mark. To lock them in with no help" Jack shudders and Laura holds his other hand. "So I did just that, taking anything that could help them. Their phones, flat keys, turning their electricity box, everything. I have them still" I say and another police officer comes in with the exact things. Their phones and keys. Mark takes them and gives the phone to Jack. "Did you try to unlock them?" Jack asks and I shake my head. "No"
