::Chapter VIII::

Painful Rejection

"Here." Seth handed Katy two pills of aspirin and a glass of water. "You will feel better afterwards. Trust me."

"Thanks." She took the aspirin and the water off his warm hands.

"You know, that's the first time I've seen Ava interact with another person. She's not even close to my brother." He said while scratching the back of his head, which made him look absolutely adorable.

"Oh." Katy had to say, this was a real awkward situation. Ava lay-ed sleep in her crib with her little hands clutching on to her sheet.

"About the scars on your back.... Who did it?" He questioned with a grim frown.

"None of your business. Just because you help me couple of time doesn't give you the right to ask about my personal life?" The fact that he cared and the fact that he called her filthy when she barelytouched his baby made her experience mixed emotions. Ever since she met him, she had nothing but these mixed emotions. Even her own heart had abandoned her.

"How dare you speak-" He paused when a head peeked in to the room. "Oh. You guys are awake. And arguing?" It was Cale.

"What did you expect?" Seth said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"Perhaps cuddling in each others arms?" Katy's eyes widened as she choked on the water she was swallowing. Seth rushed behind and pounded her on the back, hoping to make sure she swallowed the water back.

"You alright?" Cale asked.

"Yeah." Katy stroked her head. "Anyways, you guys didn't happen to see my car keys, have you?"

"I think I put them on the kitchen counter." Cale replied.

"Can you show me where they are? And if it's not any trouble, can you put my clothes in a bag for me?"

"They are already washed and in a bag. The bag is next to your keys."

"Anyways, thanks for rescuing me." Katy placed the empty glass on the table and walked out of the room, which was the last in a corridor, and walked along til she reached the living room. Spotting the kitchen and her stuff, she took her heels out of the bags and placed them on. Heels with baggy clothes.

"Where do you think you're going?" She whirled around to see Seth standing behind her with his arms crossed.

"Home. Why you ask?" She ignored his presence as she began to move forward.

He started laughing. "That's funny. But you're not going anywhere."

"What do you mean? I'm already in trouble as it is." She stopped and looked at him questiongly.

"Trouble? With who?" Cale asked with a face of a curious kid.

"None of your business." She continued to walk toward the door when a hand gripped her forearm causing a small amount of electricity to run through.

"Didn't you hear me? I said no." Seth said with a smug expression.

"You have no right to restrain me. It's called kidnapping, you know." She replied back with a sincere smile. Only she knew that she was seething mad.

"I do. You're my mate. And I'm not planning to let you go." Oh, so he's using the mate card? Two can play that game.

Katy stared at him with a blank look. "Mate? What are you talking about?"

"Don't talk to me like you don't know what I'm talking about. You're a werewolf. I can sense it."

She looked at him to see if he was kidding, but he wasn't which caused her to break into laughing. "Oh god. You're hilarious." I knew he was one, a werewolf. But me, that's hilarious. I was a nephilim but there is no way I was a werewolf. That's simply not possible.

"I'm not kidding." He growled. "Cale, tell her."

"Woah, woah. I'm not getting in between mates. This happened before and it did not end pretty. And by the look of it, he really needs you."

"I don't need a mate. I'm just saying this because anything could happen to her in that place.Suddenly, it felt like she couldn't breathe. Her heartbeat seemed to have slowed down. Se sensed a lump form in her throat.

"Dude, I've seen the way you stare at her, you can't deny it." Katy could clearly see the bits of red leaking into his face. He turned away and headed toward the kitchen.

"I'm leaving." A little quivered voice escaped her throat. She stepped out and slammed the door loud in agony. Katy walked down the block to hear a loud growl mixed with frustration, anger and dejection.

Katy stopped by the club and picked up Nick's car and drove it back. When she reached the back entrance, she could see that Nick was pacing up and down the road. I knew that I'm done for. She beeped the car horn, signaling him to get out of the way. He spotted her and waited til she got out.

"Katy, you little wench, how dare you betray me?" He yelled. She was in no mood what so ever to answer him.

"I'm not feeling well. I'm going upto my room." Katy said while avoiding his eye contact.

"Now I'm not good enough to talk to? Good thing I upgraded my claws." Katy turned to face him and that's when he grabbed her throat.

"I don't want you spoiling my plans, so let's get rid of that little screecher, shall we?" He squeezed till his claws dug in. Katy tried to get his hands away which caused him to grasp her hands tighter. She felt my skin around my throat sizzle. She saw a flash of light and saw the light reflecting off the silver. It was silver claws.

Love?" he smirked "It kills your heart, it steals your soul”

Question of the Chapter: Favorite superhero?

My Answer: Ironman. There's nothing else to it. My girlfriend like captain america. The last time I took her to watch Captain America the Winter Soldier, my ego was hurt and my pride stepped upon. I still love her though. Captain America obsession or not.
