Mouse's P.O.V. Later

We sit together on a bench. Francis just woke up from his nap and the sun's just starting to set. It looks really pretty from here.

I feel bad about lying to Francis and Alexander. If they are my friends, why do I lie to them. I want to tell them the truth. I don't want to lie to them. I don't feel we are really friends, if I keep lying to them.

"Want to stand on the bridge? We might get a better look at the sunset." He says standing up to stretch. I smile at him and nod my head.

"You're probably right." I say standing up and walking over. He easily catches up.

We stand on the bridge watching what's left of the sunset. It really is pretty here. I think it'd be a nice place to get married. Not that I would, get married that is. Unless my parents push the arranged marriage thing...

As the sun finally hides out of sight a warm breeze starts up. I know later it will become cold one. I look over at Francis as see him look up at the sky, with a sad smile. A breeze plays with his hair. I feel like this is cliche but...

"Francis can I tell you something?" I ask him unsure. He looks at me surprised.

"Sure." He answers unsure himself.

"I'm," I start.

"Wait!" I'm interrupted by someone yelling at they run at us. I take a closer look and realize who's running at us, it's Alexander! Wait, what's he doing here?

"Wait!" He says again out of breath. I look at Francis confused and he looks just as confused as I am.

"What are you doing here?" I finally ask.

"Here." He says handing me a letter. I look at it confused. "I found it on your room door." He explains.

"How'd you even know we were here?" Francis asks annoyed.

"What's wrong with you?" Alexander asks Francis.

"You ruined the mood." He mumbles grumpily. Mood? What mood?

"Good." Alexander says just as grumpily. I think I'm missing something.

I look down at the letter and recognize the writing. I contemplate whether to open it or not, but I eventually open it. Unlike the previous ones there's barely any writing.

"The time has come. Sleep tight." I read aloud. As soon as the words come out of my mouth, I feel myself falling forward before I lose consciousness.

Samuel's P.O.V

Shadow really is a drunk. I can see why Mouse didn't want to get stuck with him. It was also a huge pain trying to get him to the meeting place. I look at my watch again.

"They're late!" I say feeling extremely irritated. I can't believe Shadow bit me!

"They either lost track of time... or got lost." Shadow says thinking aloud with that idiotic smile on his face. He's getting on my nerves.

That's a lie. Mouse knew well knows. How can she even know...

*Flashback*

"Samuel?"

"Ya?" I answer her call. "What is it?"

"I know." She says looking straight forward.

"Know what?" I say confused.

"What you are." She says stopping and looking me in the eye. Her eyes are so empty. Is this how she seems to her targets? The lack of emotion, so clearly shown?

"I see." I say dropping my smile and returning her blank stare. "What now?"

"That depends." She says starting to walk again.

"On what?" I ask catching up to her.

"Confess to your crimes and except a fair trial." She says glancing at some people pass bye. She knows I'm behind it?

"If I do that I'll be executed or imprisoned." I say as we reach a bench. I sit down and patted the spot next to me.

"If you have a valued enough reason you won't. I will most likely be the person to pass judgement. So please do as I ask." She says and seems pained to do so. Does she actually care what happens to me?

*End of flashback*

I don't understand her. What is there for her to gain in this? At most they gain an assassin. Mouse you are a mystery to me.

Sorry about it being so short, don't worry the next chapter is long. Let me know what you think of Samuels secret. Please vote and comment!
