Kestrel's POV
The cells door opened, waking me up. Two guards come in and force me to my feet. One of them put Aiden into my arms and force me out.
We walk down a long corridor and then through a few doors. We walk outside and the sun stings my eyes.
It's been a while since I've seen natural light.
Aiden begins to cry and once we walk to the war grounds I am forced to my knees.
I look up and see Ash, Liam and a few other wolves.
Ash and Liam shift and it brings a tear to my eye. I honestly thought that I might not see them again.
"Give them back and nobody gets hurt. " Ash literally growls.
"Then gives us the one we want." The guard replies.
I try to break free but their grasp on me only becomes tighter. Then the lightbulb pops in my head.
"Let Aiden go and forget about Tundra." I tell them.
The guard on my right looks down at me. "What do we get in return?" He asks me.
"Me, I will join the Red River Pack." I tell him.
"You will join us?" The guard asks me, baffled.
I nod, confirming the statement. "NO!" Liam screams.
"Give them the child." The guard tells the delta.
The delta nods and grabs Aiden from my arms. He hands him to Ash and then I hear the shouting.
I'm forces to my feet, but before I turn around, I wink at Ash and Liam.
Then I see Tundra burst out of the woods.
'I'm okay, I have a plan.' I tell her through mind link.
Tundra's POV
I ran as fast as I could towards Kestrel. I was shoved to the ground as a heavy weight loomed over me.
"Now that you're here..." The wolf growls lowly.
"No!" Ash yells and shoves the wolf off of me.
"Lay another paw on her and I'll kill you." Ash snarls.
The wolf huffed and padded away. I tried to get up to chase them but Ash held me back by my tail.
"Tundra, what the hell are you doing here?!" Ash yells.
"I needed to help, but it's too late..." I whimper.
My eyes widened. I turned around and shifted into my human.
"Aiden!" I cried.
I ran towards him, in Liam's arms. I took him away from Liam carefully and I held him in my arms. I kissed his chubby cheeks and smiled. A tear slipped down my face as I looked at my son lovingly.
Ash wrapped his arms around us, kissing Aiden's forehead, then mine. I looked over at Liam and he had the most heartbroken expression on. It was like someone took his mate away from him. Oh wait... Never mind.
I went over to Liam and tried to hug him but he shoved me off.
"Liam." Ash growls.
"This is your fault Tundra!" Liam shouts.
"If you weren't affiliated with the Red River Pack, then this wouldn't have happened!" Liam roars, his eyes flickering black.
Ash handed Aiden to me and stood in front of us protectively.
"You will not speak to your Luna that way." Ash says lowly.
I rest my hand on Ash's arm, calming him down. Liam grunts and shifts into his wolf, breaking off into a sprint. I don't know where he is going.
"Go back home, I'll get him and then we will save Kestrel." Ash said to me.
His eyes clouded over. I saw he was mindlinking the wolves here to escort Aiden and I home. Ash kissed my forehead and shifted, sprinting off to find Liam.
I sighed as I headed back home with Aiden in my arms, happily sleeping. We will save you Kestrel.
Kestrel's POV
My heart grew heavier as I went further into the pack house. I was brought into the main hall where a large throne was.
Wow, these people are flashy.
A man sat in the middle of it and looked to be the real snooty type.
I was kicked in the back of the leg and fell to my knees. "Who is this?" The snooty man asks.
"Alpha Kestrel. She wants to join the pack." The delta says.
The alpha stands up and walks close to me. He grabs my chin with his right am hand and looks me over.
I look him directly into the eye, not showing any weakness.
"Take her Shauna, she'll prepare her." The alpha says.
I'm forced up and taken to a small room on the right. It looks like a salon.
I see a black haired woman stand in front of the mirror.
"Shauna, we have a newbie." The delta says. He grabs my hands and pulls out a blade.
He cuts the rope and stands in front of the door.
The black haired woman, Shauna, turns around and walks over to me.
She has quite a few piercings, but a soft face. "Name?" She asks me.
"Kestrel." I tell her.
She nods and points to a chair in front of a sink. I slowly walk over to it and sit down.
"Red or black?" Shauna asks me, turning on the sink. "What?" I ask her.
"Your hair, it has to be one of our colors, red or black?" She tells me.
"Red." I tell her.
This plan will take a lot more than I thought.
Tundra's POV
I finally got home safely with Aiden. The guards I had posted stayed at their post. They would do anything for me and my kids. I relieved the babysitter of her duty.
I was worried about Ash and Kestrel, along with Liam. What if something happened to them? Jakob started crying and I got up and went to his crib. I picked him up with my free arm and tried to cradle him back to sleep.
He was screeching loudly. I started to panic. This isn't normal, something is wrong. I put Aiden in his crib and I quickly sat on the chair and checked over Jakob. I stopped when I saw a mark on his shoulder blade.
My eyes widened. A vampire bit my son.
