"They're not my family. I don't know what kind of joke this is but it's not funny."
"Andrea, let us-"
"Us? You knew?" I look over at Ariana and she shakes her head, "So you didn't know?"
"They didn't tell me, but I figured it out..."
"Please let us explain." Miss Ruis says touching my shoulder lightly but I jump back.
"Is that why you gave me this?" I look at Xavier and down at my ring
"No babe I-"
"You've been lying to me this entire time... How do I even know that you love me?"
"Don't say that."
"You know what?" I take my ring off and take his hand and shove it back to him. "Fuck you and your promises... After everything I've gone through with guys this might be- no, this is the worst."
I run out of the backyard and before I reach the front of the house someone pulls me back and when I lift my arm up to hit them Ariana grabs my hand quickly.
"I'll take you wherever you want to go."
I couldn't get rid of her offer because without her having the keys to Nelson's car I had no where to go. I nod and we get into the car. No one followed us, Nelson and Xavier probably didn't let them, they know how I am.
"Where do you want to go?" Ari whispers
"Just leave me at your apartment."
She nods and we drive back in silence. When we get there she goes up with me to open her door and I thank her and ask her to leave and she does so. I grab all my stuff and throw it in my bag. I take off my heels and my dress quickly and throw on sweats and a shirt. I take my bag, lock the door and start walking to Ari's job. When I get there I ask them a number for a taxi and a hotel near by. When I look down at my phone I had many miss calls from Nelson, Xavier, and another number I didn't know. I decide to turn my phone off, I buy a coffee before the taxi comes and I go.
When I get to the hotel they ask how many days I'll be staying which I had no clue.
"Excuse me a second?" The lady nods and I call my dad. "Hey, dad? I know it's all of a sudden and I'll pay you back, but do you think you could get me a ticket to go back home for tomorrow?"
"How come sweet-"
"Please." My voice cracks but I hold myself from crying
"Where are you?"
"Summits"
"Why are you there?"
"Is that of importance?"
"Why are you there Andrea?"
"Nelson-"
"Be ready by tomorrow morning, you're coming home."
He hangs up and I turn back to the lady at the front desk. "Only for one night, I'll be leaving tomorrow morning." She nods handing me my key and I pay. "Thank you." I go up to my room, throw my stuff on the ground and plunge myself in the bed. Everything's been a lie. I take my phone and turn it off. I take off my clothes and jump into the shower. I turn the water on and sit in the tub and start crying again.
How could it be that Nelson is my brother? That my parents aren't my parents? And Xavier knew about all of this? For how long?
I must of stayed in the tub for an hour, my toes and fingers were wrinkly like a raisin. I drain the tub and hop out, I felt so weak and so sleepy from crying so much. I wrap the towel around my body and walk out.
