"Sorry Girl, my boyfriend moved in" Becca said disappointedly.

"It's fine. I'll just ask my dad for a loan, I guess." I sighed over the phone.

"I really am sorry Sam. But hey, call me if you need anything" She said trying to cheer me up.

"Sure thing."

I hung up the phone and got dressed for work. I slid on some jeans and a black tank top, as required by my job. I worked at a diner called "Jacks" , not to far from my apartment.

I grabbed my keys and drove off to work.

When I got there I saw one of my other friends Josh, who worked there. "Sammy, hey!" He chirped while throwing me my apron.

"Hey Josh" I said, as I caught my apron, wrapping it around my waste.
He grabbed a tray full of food, "I got table 13, I'll be right back!"

I nodded and found a table to start with for the day.

The rest of the day was filled with cheap tips, fake smiles, and rude costumers.

By the evening I was untying my apron and doing last minute clean ups. Josh began to tell me about how he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend, and I sat and chatted with him for about an hour after work ended.

After that we closed up the diner and headed towards our cars. "Bye Josh!" I shouted across the parking lot.

I got in my car, driving off to my dads tattoo parlor, a little farther in downtown L.A.

Once I got there, I began to feel a little nauseous. I guess my parents can really intimidate me.

The shop was closing in about 10 minutes, which meant no one would be in there.

I opened the shop door, to my dad shoutting. "Look kid you got talent. A lot of talent, but I don't need your help for the 15th time!" He shouted to some boy.

Once the boy turned around I couldn't believe who it was. "T-Tyler?" I said to myself. He clearly didn't recognize me, and he walked right past me.

Tyler was a jerk. But a guy who had the girls head over heels for him in college. But not me. They all got hurt. So I stayed away.

I look behind me as he walked right out of the door.

"What was that about?" I asked my dad.

"Just some kid with dumb dreams" My dad laughed.

"I happen to think having dreams, are quite nice, don't you think...?"I hesitantly asked, as I murmured under my breath.

"Nonsense pumpkin! Dreams are a waste of time. You get caught up in the thought of them, and never achieve them. So, don't let me here that kind of talk again" He said while cleaning up his equipment.

"Yeah, your right. I won't do it again." I said while hanging my head low. I was 23, and still afraid of my parents.

"So how's your apartment?" My dad asked while changing the subject.

"Actually that's what I came here for. I just wanted to know if I could borrow some money, just until I find a higher paying job" I murmured.

"Are you crazy!? Absolutely not Samantha. You know how I feel about doing things on your own. Your mother and I was already lenient about that apartment, but now your asking for too much!" He yelled at me.

"Your 23 years old. Be a big girl." He told me.

"Yeah, I'm sorry. I guess I-I just wasn't thinking right" I said while trying to hold back any tears.

"That's my girl. Correct your mistakes and move on" He said.

I turned around, and as soon as I exited the door, I began to cry.

"Talk about tough love" Tyler blurted out of no where.

I jumped because he had scared me.

I guess he was standing outside of the shop door, the whole time.

"I don't know you, leave me alone" I said to him. I turned around, but before I could he said..

"Sam, I'm not dumb."

I looked at him and he just smirked.

"Don't call me Sam" I said to him.

"I'm struggling too, trust me I understand" He said to me.

"Trusting you was never on my bucket list" I said while wiping my tears away.

"Look, I need a place to stay, and you need money, right?" He asked me.

I walked closer to him so he can understand, "I don't need help. Especially yours."

"You do. You just don't want to admit it" He assumed.

He was right. I was in desperate need of cash, to keep my home. After college, things weren't going as planned.

"Don't you sell art for like high prices?" I questioned him.

"Yeah, but my parents kicked me out. I got money, just no place to stay. But soon, you'll have neither of them."

He was right. Once again, Tyler Adams was correct.

"Fine" I agreed.

He smirked at me, "address?"

I took out my notepad and pen, and wrote it down. I sighed heavily, "don't make me regret this."

"Trust me princess" He said with a smirk.

I highly doubt that would ever happen.
