The diner smelled like gingerbread, and mints. It was all nicely decorated, and Christmas music played from sunrise to dawn.

"Wow, you've been through hell and back I assume" Josh said to me.

I laughed. "Yeah, life is really tough" I said with a small smile.

I had told him about what happened with Cole, and all the other drama in my life. "I'm just glad that your finally happy."

"So what are you going to get your girlfriend for Christmas?" I asked with a smile, "it's in three days."

"I'm getting her these charms, that will go on the charm braclet that her father got her when she was little. That  bracelet is the only thing she has left of him.." He said with a half smile.

"What about you and Tyler?" Josh asked.

"Every place we've been to together, I've gotten pictures for it. So I think I'll scrapbook it" I said with a smile.

"That seems like something a couple would do" Josh said with a smirk.

I slapped him on the shoulder with the dirty rag I was holding."Oh shut up" I said with a laugh,"we're just really good friends."

"Mhmm, really really good friends."

I rolled my eyes.

The diner was about to be closed. 10 minutes and we were out.

After time I was up, I headed home. Once I got upstairs in the complex, I just couldn't wait to see Tyler.

When I opened the door, he was'nt there. It was strange because typically in the morning time Tyler sells his paintings, and is back my evening.

In the meantime, I showered, watched Scream Queens, ate some pop corn and chilled.

Tyler came through the door, scaring me half to death. He was dragging in a fake christmas tree, and lights. "I think it's time we set up!" He said with a smile.

He threw an ugly sweater at me and I laughed. "Only you would get this" I said as I admired his Christmas spirit, "we still have three more days left."

"Yeah, but let's just say that this is pre-christmas."

I laughed at him, and I threw the sweater on over my pajamas.

"Hey I got some more stuff on my motorcycle."

"Can we go get them?" I asked like a little kid.

"Sure."

We both walked down stairs in our insanely ugly sweaters, and said hi to the lobby manager.

We walked outside to greet the extremely cold air. Tyler's motorcycle  had a box hooked to it.

"This is not a safe idea, leaving your stuff out here like this" I said while rolling my eyes.

He opened the box and frowned. "Someone took the ornaments" He said with saddness in his tone.

"What would you expect ? It's outside in the open duh" I said with a laugh, "lets just go to the store."

"Alright then, lets walk. Walmart is right around the corner." He grabbed the the box and walked halfway across the street.

"Wait! I found them I shouted."

He walk back without looking both ways. Big mistake.

It was so quick. It was almost like lightning the way it struck him.

He was hit.

Tyler Adams, my protector, my friend, my almost.

I ran to him, and it was like my legs were to weak to keep going. He was bleeding all over.

"No" I cried. "No, no, no, god dammit no" I sobbed.

"Help him! Someone call for help please!" I shouted, while holding his cold hands. I kept listening to his heart, checking his pulse, mouth to mouth.

I was doing everything I possibly could. A women walked over and called the ambulance.

"Tyler, can y-you hear me?" I asked, knowing that he won't respond, "if you can just know that I'm ready to be yours. Just don't leave me" I said with tears falling on him.

The ambulance arrived.

They came out and hooked him up to an oxygen tank. Thank god he hadn't died.

They allowed me to ride the ambulance with him.

I never felt this bad in my entire life. Even with the verbal abuse of my parents.

When we got to the hospital they rushed him in. The took him to a room, and they called his parents.

I stood outside of the hospital. I couldn't be in the same room as him. Let alone, the premises.

He was hurt, and seeing him that way hurt me just as much. The doctors had told me that he has a few bruises, and his leg is broken.

He's also unconscious, and right now it can take days or even weeks for him to wake up.

I sat with my knees touching my chest on a quiet bench. It was extremely chilly, and my breaths were like the smoke from a cigar, scattering into the chilled air.

But it was at that moment when a little drop fell on my pants.

Then  another, and another.

Soon it began to rain...in the winter.
I some how felt slightly relieved. It was almost as if Tyler was right here comforting me, and telling me that everything was okay.

I smiled, and I had a sudden urge to get up. Tyler told me about his world. He told me about how it rains in the winter, but I knew it wasn't possible.

Until today.
